The truth is, it doesn't do particularly much as far as I know. If you drink too much of the Aqua Pura, you die, though.

It does, in lore. A ghoul sells tainted water to other ghouls, claiming it's Aqua Pura, so they don't really get affected. I haven't done it myself in a while, so I don't remember much about it.

Ah. I just finished that quest and he's just scamming them. He sells the real aqua pura to raiders and all and sells irradiated water to the ghouls.

first of all. im talking about the first world war, you complete and utter **** wit. hitler was fighting as a lieutenant at that point. finally, sure, we got bombed, but not into being useless in the war.

seriously, read a ******* book. do you even know who the british prime minister was during world war one?

#185 to #184 - dumbasshunter (08/21/2013) [-]
you're still wrong. the British fought for the entire war, where as america stepped in during the end.

we aren't talking about the luftwaffe either, we're talking about how the post glorifies america as the only victors in WWII. in reality, they said "we dont want to get involved in this petty squabble", but changed their mind when they realized the war was actually a serious deal.

and back to your first point, the reason we were lenient with Hitler was because
1) he was claiming he was doing the exact same as Britain did. creating an empire to form a "great germany". so we couldn't exactly stop him if we did it could we? its hypocritical

2) we were appeasing him, because Germany was a good trade partner to have.

3) we were in a recession from the last war. having another war only a few years later would cripple the country.

we could have stopped Hitler when he entered the buffer zone between France and Germany, but we were currently dealing with the Manchurian crisis. and as one official said "all they are really doing is stepping into their back garden"

so before you come into the thread guns blazing making the English sound week, remember that we were out saving the world when Hitler was getting frisky with Poland and Austria. and FINALLY, the English has by far one of the most strongest and well organized empires in the history of humanity. So organized in fact, That we still have the common wealth games, in which the countries that were previously a part our empire get together for sporting events. so go **** yourself when claiming "the luftwaffe ****** england" because we still fought on.
User avatar #186 to #185 - entarasu (08/21/2013) [-]
excuses excuses you could join forces with france and bash hitler instead you enjoyed a cup of tea under the rain of the luftwaffe

.....wow you are retarded. you weren't dropped when you were born, you must have been violently beat against the floor by your ankles. you are aware that war is bad right? you are meant to avoid it? because the senseless murder of working class men is a BAD thing. just because politicians disagree on territory, they feel the need to send their people out to murder fathers, sons, uncles and brothers.

you seriously need to see a therapist, and read a history book, because the amount of disrespect you have for the people who formed your way of life is disgusting. and your lack of knowledge on this part of key history is also disturbing as well.

That is because we really didn't want another massive war, after the first world war we had enough of the bloodshed. Plus we were still battered from the last war and our economy was basically in ruins. WW2 is the reason why we aren't much of a major power anymore.

I think we are still in the top 20 but our small island nation as the centre of the largest empire the world had seen, for over a century was the foremost global power.

When they're winning, it's America.
When they're losing, it's the allies.
And it's never the Axis, just Germany. Germany had no help from Italy, Japan (Japan were just bombing people for no reason, and the plans for the nuke were sent to Japan from Germany for no reason.), Hungary, Austria, Denmark or Bulgaria.
Honest question; when, in American schools, do they teach you about America's role in WWII?
User avatar #133 to #90 - Mahazama (08/21/2013) [-]
Yes, they do teach us our true role, you goddamn arrogant ass euros act like our schools just drill holes in our brains and fill them with propaganda. Well this isn't the case. We know about lend/lease, profiteering, and all the ****** things "The Great Satan" America has done. America did have a very large role in both Europe and the Pacific theatre in WW2, as easily as you dismiss all of our accomplishments. We know about russian casualties and honestly I don't believe that just because they indiscriminately tossed russian conscripts at german panzers that they somehow accomplished "more".
User avatar #157 to #133 - blargchikahonkhonk (08/21/2013) [-]
im British and i agree with you to a certain extent. you cannot really say that any of the sides realy did more as such. all sides acted their parts and whilst it is easysily arguable that the russians who held the eastern fromt and who in the end where the ones pushing into berlin may have done more there the americans helped the britsh out and were the main contributor by far in the pacific theatre.

tl;dr both sides played their parts we couldnt have done it without all of them
#103 to #90 - itsbendingtime (08/21/2013) [-]
I wonder if they teach them that before lend lease they were making mad bank supplying both sides.
User avatar #135 to #103 - Mahazama (08/21/2013) [-]
I wonder if they teach you how absolutely ****** you were before American involvement. Sure the brits put up a "jolly good" defense, but in the end it was just a matter of time and resources.
Don't just brush us off and dismiss our role.
#178 to #135 - itsbendingtime (08/21/2013) [-]
Lend Lease did not begin until after the Battle of Britain and the RAF established air superiority over the Germans.
Once this happened Operation Sea Lion (the planned German invasion of the British Isles) was over. The Germans could not invade without air superiority, and the RAF was constantly tearing the Luftwaffe a new one.
The US contribution to the liberation of Europe cannot be ignored however, without American supplies and troops Britain and her allies could have at best liberated France.
There would have been no East and West Germany. The whole of central and eastern Europe would have been communist.

Similarly the US should not disregard the contribution Britain made to fighting the Japanese. Whilst the US bore the brunt of the Imperial Japanese Navy, the soldiers they fought on the various islands across the pacific were mostly young, inexperienced and/or conscripted. The elite regiments of the Japanese Army were on the mainland fighting the British in Burma and northern India. History seems to have forgotten that the British were pushed right out of Burma but marched straight back in and inflicted Japans biggest land-based defeat of the war.
User avatar #177 to #103 - rieskimo (08/21/2013) [-]
Do they teach American children of our manufacturing might during the time? Yes. Do they tell us that we liked to sell to both sides? No, they also don't tell us of the fight on the homefront on whether or not to get involved in the war. They don't tell us a lot of things.

It's not my fault that my predecessors are assholes, I know I'm going to give my children a better education in history than I received. I can't guarantee that the rest of America will.

What can be said is that the US had a significant role in World War II.

Whether it was producing the things we all fought with or lending support to our allies, either way you can't diminish America's roll. We fought, we sacrificed.

I can't say if they are right or wrong but they did apparently take a leading role at the end of the war, helped prop up the UK's economy and suffered the most losses of any nation during the time they were fully committed it.

All of the major powers involved played an important part except for italy, they didn't really do much compared to germany. Even then small countries also played an important role in the war, even the remaining conquered poland's forces played an important role.

Also remember Germany's defeat was crushing, but we still almost lost the war.
