I don't want to support censorship but...

not censoring free media would be like giving both a man and a baby a steak and expecting both of them to chew it.

some things have to be censored.

Not censoring media is not forcing anyone to do anything. I don't remember the last time I was forced to use profanity after seeing it in the movies.

Censoring media is like not offering steak to anyone.

so basically we all have to take the consequences because a few people aren't responsible and 'gives the baby the steak' in the first place.

Information should, and must, always remain free.
It is vital to any free society that information be held as one of the pillars of said society.
Who gets to decide what should and shouldn't be censored, who has the ******* authority to tell one man that he cannot access the information that another man brought to the world??

1984 is pretty much "a controlling government ******* sucks" it was written because george orwell was like "damn *****, if **** keep goin like dis tho, SHIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET" and so he wrote what he thought the world would be like in 1984, and for the most part he was right

i was on a board and someone said something about making a violent movie, and someone replied, "they shouldn't because its violent and children would be scared".

NO ONE SAID A FRIKKIN THING

THE CHILDREN DONT HAVE TO WATCH IT THEN

YOU HAVE A BRAIN FOR A REASON, RETARD.

Isn't it more like both the baby and the man have to eat the same food so it's pretty dumb to choose something that only one can chew.

No, I didn't say that. but if you're airing something that everyone can see, you should at least think about what you're gonna air.

Isn't that what parenting is for? Making sure your kids aren't viewing things you don't want them to?

Yeah, but parents aren't going to sit with their children every time they watch TV. Especially not if they have more than one. And it's not just kids we're talking about. Airing something that can be very offensive to someone is pretty stupid.

Then don't ******* watch things that might be offensive. If you don't want your kids watching hardcore porn then take put on sesame street or something and take the remote.
The point of society is not to make absolutely sure that everything is unoffensive.
And what if I'm offended because you think I'm a sensitive little snowflake that can't handle anything that isn't censored? For everyone that's offended by something that isn't censored, there would be more being offended by it being censored.

To be honest we both know it isn't that easy to control what your kids watch. Even if you took the remote the could just walk up and change, or go to another TV. When people get offended they don't just switch channels and forget about it. If I saw some ******* Nazi preaching genocide on public TV i wouldn't just change channels. I'd be ******* pissed.
I'm fine with things being uncensored if it's for a good reason. But offending people without any good reason is just being an asshole.

Free speech trumps your right to not be offended. If you don't want to be offended for "no good reason", don't listen to what that person has to say.
