Do you have experience with edibles?
User avatar #34 to #33 - occamsrazor (08/15/2013) [-]
if there's one thing i have it's experience
User avatar #43 to #34 - articulate (08/15/2013) [-]
As long as you're sure. I once ate two weed cookies I had made during school at lunch thinking by the time it started to really kick in I would be on my way home anyway. I ended up having to just leave because I severely underestimated their effects and it wasn't even my first time.
If you're sure it's indica then you should be fine. I smoked before getting root canals and it was definitely more pleasant than it would have been. I'm not sure how plane rides compare to root canals, but same thing.

I'm an everyday smoker, and I have a big tolerance. The edibles I'll eat were made by a pro and I've had them before so I have experience with the dosage. It's more controlled than randomly making firecrackers or something because I know exactly what the effects will be so it also eliminates anxiety from uncertainty.
User avatar #45 to #44 - articulate (08/15/2013) [-]
Smoking doesn't effect your tolerance to edibles which is why people usually **** up the dosage on their first go. I myself passed out my first time.
Good luck and have fun bro.

That's a common misconception. In reality cannabinoid compounds are metabolized and the endocannabinoid system processes them the same way, meaning there's no differentiation once the active compounds of the plant are absorbed by the body because they are the same compounds whether are smoked or eaten. How they are absorbed is the difference: when smoked they are absorbed by the lungs and when eaten they are metabolized more slowly by the digestive system and the effects feel stronger as they last longer. Also the way the edible is prepared and the temperature used can vastly change the product. This is why, for the general casual smoker, a few bowls worth of bud smoked can be good for a pleasant high lasting 2-3 hours whereas the same amount efficiently prepared as an edible and eaten correctly could send the same person to space for 6 hours or more. I've eaten an eighth of good weed in a few brownies once and not only was I literally tripping that night but I was also feeling the strong body high well into the next day. The reason people can't get dosage right is because they don't know how to titrate, meaning instead of starting with doses they know to be small and working their way up, they'll start at what turns out to be a rather high dose that ends up being too strong and making them too uncomfortable, which can lead to some ignorance about edibles. I think they're a great alternative to smoking in the right situations. Like in a plane.

Why would you eat a weed brownie before a flight?
That sounds like an extremely bad idea.
For one, you will probably get paranoia from being on a plane and feeling claustrophobic.
For two, the flight will last 3x the time it should take.
User avatar #38 to #37 - occamsrazor (08/15/2013) [-]
-Experience and confidence
-It's a 12hr direct flight
-I don't get paranoid, and it's made with indica shake so I'll just be chair-locked listening to music half asleep
User avatar #39 to #38 - darksideofthebeast (08/15/2013) [-]
I am experienced to but sometimes I get really bad paranoia.
And on a flight I would probably just be thinking it was going to go down either way.
User avatar #40 to #39 - occamsrazor (08/15/2013) [-]
Well then you shouldn't be high on a plane haha
User avatar #41 to #40 - darksideofthebeast (08/15/2013) [-]
I'm just saying.
you can say you won't get paranoid at all, but that doesn't mean you won't.

User avatar #31 to #20 - articulate (08/15/2013) [-]
Yeah, plane seating doesn't work that way. I've never flown a plane and I know that.
#47 to #31 - soronbe (08/15/2013) [-]
Indeed, you obviously haven't flown a plane, 'cause then you've have known that he indeed is not sitting on a plane, but on a bus dumbass
