stopping bullets? no. but they are meant to cause bullets to graze off instead of just hitting and going right through, if you hit it at too much of an angle, or youre off to the side a bit, the bullet will deflect off the helmet and it wont go through and kill you. but they will not stop a bullet after a direct impact
