Ok. For one, Master Chief would take Trillions to make. Let's break it down: 1. secret soldier day care along with any payments made to his family, and to top it off, genetic modification. Let's say millions out the door already. 2. Mjolnir armor= Freaking expensive! 3. Cortana: Artificial Intelligence= not even touching a number to that!

Now, let's compare the Avengers. Iorn Man: Made suit himself out of pocket. Thor: Demi-god, works for little. Hulk: million dollar radiation experiment gone wrong.(to be fair, he breaks **** a lot.) Black Widow: Russian trained spy. Hawkeye: Trained special forces specializing in a trick bow. Captain America: million dollar super soldier.

On another note...Thor and Iron man can both effectively fly, not to mention that multiple people can do things a single person, no matter how strong, could never do by themself.

I haven't played it in quite a while, but the gameplay itself was pretty much like Halo 3.. I hated that they took out the Assault rifle, replacing it with an SMG that you could
dual-wield.

The storyline, however, was pretty badass.

Well doesn't the suit weigh roughly 1,000 pounds? He would sink to the bottom and walk around for a while before suffocating, kinda like a big daddy at least that's how I figured it.
#528 to #525 - afireinsidebrad (08/11/2013) [-]
7 hours to suffocate btw, thats how much air that suit holds as well
User avatar #540 to #528 - curtkobain (08/11/2013) [-]
well if he is "swimming" in the ocean then he'll sink and the pressure would **** him up. Hell even at 13 feet you can feel the pressure of the water. I'm sure the suit helps but to a certain extent.
User avatar #531 to #528 - faithrider ONLINE (08/11/2013) [-]
plus around 15 i think it is, because they have air scrubbers that last that long... or was that just the odst armor...

#536 to #534 - faithrider ONLINE (08/11/2013) [-]
yup. and i think the armor was a half ton without any of the add-ons or spartans wearing it. if i remember correctly they said that in full gear and with shield generator and oxygen tank and power ups while carrying a spartan and their weapons it came closer to a full ton. so basically it'd be like slowly suffocating while carrying a small to mid-size sedan underwater...

The SPARTAN-II Program was done in a huge batch. 150 Candidates were kidnapped, flash cloned, and brought to training.

Then those 150 were genetically engineered, killing several, for years. This includes bonding things to their skeletons to make them stronger.

The MJOLNIR armor went through several iterations before it could even be used by these Spartans. There were several pairs of armor made for the IIs.

Overall billions upon billions of dollars spent on the Spartans. And since Master Chief is one of the last few to exist, the program was a massive waste of money.

User avatar #511 to #436 - durkadurka (08/11/2013) [-]
Considering that Master Chief saved humanity from utter destruction on multiple occasions, the price was worth it. Hell, it'd be worth it even if it cost ALL the money.

The IIs lasted for a long time considering that they were routinely put in the ********* of ****** situations.
User avatar #467 to #436 - swifterly ONLINE (08/11/2013) [-]
Not a massive waste of money if one of them saves the Universe 4 times, and now another 2 eh?
#469 to #467 - dafuqmang (08/11/2013) [-]
Something could be a huge benefit but still waste money. The Spartan Is and IIIs were pretty effective, and they cost much less than IIs

It's a very unproductive way of living.
User avatar #587 to #586 - thesilence (08/11/2013) [-]
People can play video games and have lives at the same time.
#588 to #587 - Aezync (08/11/2013) [-]
They waste hours on video-games, and for what? The market is perpetual too, guaranteeing hundreds of hours wasted on virtual **** per day.

What's the point other than selfish entertainment?
User avatar #589 to #588 - thesilence (08/11/2013) [-]
It's just as selfish as watching films or listening to music. Why single out video games?
#590 to #589 - Aezync (08/11/2013) [-]
A film, at most, provides you with 3 hours of entertainment. Let's say 4 just because of the after-moments where you contemplate the film or whatever.

Now a trilogy will last you longer, let's say 12 hours. 3 different movies waste half of a day of your time.

Now a popular video-game, like CoD, GoW, or BF3 will last you for HUNDREDS of hours. You waste 100s of hours doing the same thing over and over again.

Even the more esoteric games like BG, DA, ME, MGS, etc. provide at LEAST 11 hours of gameplay, per game. And there are trilogies of these games. 36 hours, wasted.

Even after all that wasted time, you move onto a new game to waste more time. Where's the logic?

When it comes to music, you can do ANYTHING while listening to it. You can run, read, write, play an instrument, dance, eat, and perhaps even sleep while music is playing. It's not the same as a video-game, which requires your full attention.

So that's why I solo out video-games.
User avatar #591 to #590 - thesilence (08/11/2013) [-]
Fair enough, thanks for the well thought out answers. I don't disagree with you - I think video games are a bit of a waste of time, and some people really do take it too far when they spend every day playing games, but I don't think there's anything wrong with playing games regularly since you can still have a proper hobby and have a good job that contributes to society.

Well I'm sorry, but you should be using your time in a way that helps you and other people instead of being selfish with it.

Maybe you have talent in something that's actually useful. The only way to find out is to give it a try, friend.
