You could probably do a whole series on abandoned places for just about any city. Yea, Detroit is rough but dont act like there arent abandoned places everywhere...
#125 to #37 - anon (08/06/2013) [-]
Oh c'mon. Detroit is a seriously ****** up place. It's lost 25% of its population over the past decade.
#126 to #125 - ClicheUsername (08/06/2013) [-]
That doesnt mean that other cities dont have abandoned places too. There are still a bunch of nice areas in Downtown Detroit, even if there are areas that are awful.
#103 to #20 - anon (08/06/2013) [-]
the jails are pretty crowded and the welfare stations too if you think about it...
#156 to #20 - voltism (08/06/2013) [-]
I think a series on places that aren't abandoned in Detroit would be better.

Like schools and hospitals

i like how it just goes "abandoned place, abandoned place, uninhabited, abandoned, abandoned, Detroit, uninhabited..."
other places have to decay for decades to get on this list, detroit just has to be detroit.

i love that Detroit

User avatar #109 to #104 - twiztidxson (08/06/2013) [-]
It doesn't say it was an abandon church.
User avatar #111 to #109 - MUTHAFUDGE (08/06/2013) [-]
Of course it does, it says Detroit right on the picture...

Why is there like a ton of chairs inside the pool? Did they go like "Yeaaahhh let's just leave these chairs here..."
User avatar #62 to #60 - kalima (08/05/2013) [-]
It is a pool of chairs.
User avatar #121 to #60 - flybager (08/06/2013) [-]
looks like it was pretty much every movable piece of furniture that would be found in a university, they probably just ditched them there to be rid of it. even though that might've been extreemly obvious
(chairs being the most common, I guess.)
#133 to #60 - crazyitalian (08/06/2013) [-]
every item in the pool represents a loss to the cardinals.

U of R's football team is terrible

#163 to #60 - anon (08/06/2013) [-]
And if you look in this picture you can observe a mass chair orgy, no one really knows where they come from or how long they had to migrate to get here or even how they find each other to achieve this but they do this once every year, truly a majestic and stalwart creature the chair, and as you can see some tables have even worked their way in, now to observe with silent dignity.

i like how in the beginning they were organizing them neatly and then they were like " **** this" and just threw them anywhere

Same.

It sounds like it's located in the lower part of belgium though.
So I'll have to visit that during a vacation.

oh god.
i like how all of them are like "110 year old"
or "abandoned"
and then there's just "church in detroit"
User avatar #100 to #96 - certifiedidiot (08/06/2013) [-]
Hell, could just be any general part of Detroit, not just a church.
User avatar #101 to #100 - nesquik (08/06/2013) [-]
Exactly.

My favorite abandoned place, because it's a party house, a communist party house

I'm going to be attending Rochester next year and I heard about the pool on my tour. It was my goal to discover it while walking in the underground tunnels. Now my dream is ruined because I've already seen it.

This looks like Traverse City State Asylum in Michigan. I went in their one day with my friends, we simply knocked on the doors a bit and the nails holding the boards up fell right out. It was a really creepy place and there was this basement we walked like 5 feet into and then there was a rustling sound and what sounded like a moan and we ran out like "Well this is one big pile of NOPE"
#33 to #32 - kingpara (08/05/2013) [-]
Here's a load from Pripyat
#36 to #34 - kingpara (08/05/2013) [-]

#140 - cheeziswin (08/06/2013) [-]
There's a place a couple miles from where I live that I've been dying to explore, but the owner is a dick and has people patrolling the place almost 24/7.

Inside bleachers.

One of the many sets of stairs.
#143 to #140 - cheeziswin (08/06/2013) [-]
The escalator. I wish I could find a picture of the rumoured elevator, but there are none. There's also a graffiti somewhere that says "Octopussy", apparently.
