its fine if smokers want to kill themselves with all sorts of medical problems but why should they see a need to smoke anytime anywhere and cause the rest of us to die from those same problems from 2nd hand smoke
User avatar #132 to #7 - bannon (08/04/2013) [-]
Ok here's taking a few points from every comment you have said. And believe me, I read through every one of your bitchy tirades.

Smokers in a public place should not be allowed smoke around other people because some people don't like the smell. I don't like when babies scream and cry outdoors. They should be banned from public shopping areas.

Hurr Durr mainstream.... and uhh the media! You do realize that you sound like an idiot when talking like that.

I think you pointed out that smokers are using up medical care that could be used for other people. Where do you think medical care funding came from? Good samaritans? No! Do you even know how much tax is taken from a packet of cigarettes? In my country, it amounted to somewhere around €1.5 billion meaning that a lot of people received health care from smokers choosing to smoke.

Have you ever been a smoker? Have you lost somebody to smoking in the past or recently? If so, I may be able to understand some of your reasoning but the nonsense that you have been speaking about is ridiculous saying that people should quit smoking. As someone pointed out, they don't want to love in a nanny state (i.e. China). How would you feel if your government came into your home and told you what to eat every day of the week. Think about this instance: you can only eat raw onions every day except for saturdays in which you can eat grilled onions - a message from your government because we only like to eat onions.

I myself am a smoker of about 10 or 11 years. I like to enjoy a cigarette. I sometimes like to think of it as a hobby. I mostly try to avoid smoking around my area so that the kids don't see it as "cool". I agree that 2nd hand smoke is harmful. But, let's take smoking out of the equation and imagine it's but house construction. The streets are filled with people varnishing their bird houses. The fumes are toxic, but not that toxic. That's how ridiculous your argument is.
User avatar #171 to #132 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
as if people varnish their bird houses several times a day every day
you rape logic you a living dont you

i have known people who have died from smoking, i have known people to suffer long-term medical issues from smoking and be ****** up, living half dead

ive never been a smoker, not just because of the poisons, or the fact it makes everything smell like **** , but also the habit of it is very much like a baby sucking on a pacifier....if you need that little distraction to comfort you and be your emotional crutch to help you through life then wtf life do you have?
User avatar #116 to #7 - sandle (08/04/2013) [-]
jesus you're dumb. you don't just walk past someone who's smoking and all of a sudden have cancer, or sit in a restaurant for an hour or two where someone is smoking and suddenly need chemo therapy. 2nd hand smoke is most often found to be caused by someone who lives in a house with a smoker and is constantly subjected to their fumes at all times. This isn't hard to understand just use your brain.
User avatar #112 to #7 - kaboozle123 (08/04/2013) [-]
we can't smoke anywhere we want, in fact in most places we can't smoke. and you're not gonna die from second hand smoke unless you're constantly around smokers and even then unless they're blowing the **** in your face or you're inside it won'y have much of an effect on you

You aren't going to die from a very small amount of occasional second hand smoke. Calm down.
User avatar #85 to #83 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
no but why accept it as contributing to cancer
people should have the right to avoid health hazards by their own choice, not by others
User avatar #86 to #85 - alanflindt (08/04/2013) [-]
That is why smokers are forced to smoke outside now. But now you're complaining as if the entire Earth is slowly being filled with cigarette smoke, forcing you to die a painful, cancerous death. This is not happening. There are people who smoke for years and then quit with no adverse health affects - you're not going to die from being on the same street as a smoker. Please calm down.
User avatar #87 to #86 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
well would be easier to calm down if the Murican trolls would stop raging at me for having an opinion

how exactly? yes i do agree it can be harmful and is disgusting but why should that affect how you think about people is it same for people who drink alcohol or have sex both can be harmful and both are kind of disgusting
User avatar #59 to #58 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
well on average people dont force you to drink 2nd hand alcohol, and actually forcing you is illegal, just as forced sex aka rape, is illegal,....but 2nd hand cigarette smoke is legal
User avatar #60 to #59 - thefogwoggler (08/04/2013) [-]
i like the fact you change the conversation instead of coming up with a response and we've been over this second hand smoke is legal because it has almost no affects on your body and your argument makes no sense no one forces second hand smoke on you they don't hold you down and blow it into your mouth and then force you to inhale do they thats what you're implying

no effects according to who? the tobacco industries who produce the **** arent going to admit the truth and lose business, the medical professionals wont say the full story because they work forthe state and the state bends to the will of the corporations including tobacco industry

people who drink or **** near you dont affect you unless they happen to spill booze or jizz on you. but smokers dont even have to try to spread their poison your way

any form of poison taken in causes harm, just with smaller amounts the effects take longer to take affect as they build up slowly

look, the thing with smoking is that it's a right, just like breathing fresh air.
Noone is forced to back down, but they both have the option to do so.
So naturally, you, who is bothered by it, has lost.
User avatar #74 to #72 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
well in effect there should be designated smoking areas where if people want to put **** in their own lungs, they can do it in those places and non smokers can avoid those areas

smokers still keep their right to **** themselves up, and not affect others
User avatar #75 to #74 - erotictentacle (08/04/2013) [-]
that's already the case, Smokers are not allowed to smoke inside public buildings that aren't properly ventilated. They can now only smoke outside or in properly ventilated smoking areas.
Or is that not the case where you live?
User avatar #76 to #75 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
i meant in public spaces

yes workplaces have smoking areas, or in some cases no set areas, just employees who want to smoke go right outside the building entirely

but when smoking on public space, there should be set areas where they can smoke so its contained in that location and non smokers in public can know to avoid those areas
User avatar #77 to #76 - erotictentacle (08/04/2013) [-]
So you're telling me that it bothers you that people can smoke anywhere outside in public areas?
User avatar #79 to #77 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
nice how you and the other trolls keep pointing it all at me as if im the ONLY human being on the planet who doesnt like 2nd hand smoke

sad how most others in the world follow the ******** ideal of 'just deal with it' and assholes like you preach that message for everyone to just deal

nice how your opinion of how to deal with a problem is just ignore it
User avatar #80 to #79 - erotictentacle (08/04/2013) [-]
You're discussing wrong. You didn't answer my question.
I can do what i want, you know. I don't have to give a **** about you. I'm against smoking, but my whole life I've been 2nd hand smoking because i like the bar to play table football and it didn't affect me at all, i'm still alive and healthy.
What really is sad is that you call us trolls just because we have an opinion. We aren't the least bit different, but those who don't care to inhale a harmless amount of poison are the majority. I'm not sure where you're getting at with that whole martyr thing.
User avatar #82 to #80 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
well that 'majority' you speak of are the ignorant who dont care about their lives, they live day to day , work 9-5, eat, sleep, **** by routine

why is it when anyone stand up and says 'somethings not right here' they immediately get **** dumped on them for questioning the routine

life is for living not just surviving,

smoking is a nasty habit where the people more or less take on the gamble of how long they can live based on their bodies ability to survive with the poisons

i may not give that much of a **** about life but i care enough to not go with a 'ah **** it' approach in regards to needless and senseless gambles, why do you accept it
User avatar #100 to #82 - erotictentacle (08/04/2013) [-]
Well, what gives you the right to call what we do " **** " and us not?
Your reasoning is flawed.
#169 to #100 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
right, because inhaling lungfuls of toxic chemicals and telling yourself its a good thing makes perfect sense..
right, because inhaling lungfuls of toxic chemicals and telling yourself its a good thing makes perfect sense..
User avatar #187 to #169 - erotictentacle (08/05/2013) [-]
way to dodge what i said.
Noone inhales lungfuls while smoking passive, it's impossible, you smoke only small amounts that don't matter over your lifetime.
Considering that you likely live in a city, you should be more worried about the car fumes in the air.
User avatar #188 to #187 - konradkurze (08/05/2013) [-]
smokers do inhale lungfuls of **** , non-smokers inhale small amounts which poison them slowly as it builds up over time of inhaling it here and there

as ive tried to point out to several tards here, its bad enough people have to inhale car exhaust fumes while people use cars for practical reasons without people also inhaling 2nd hand smoke when smoking has no practical purpose

User avatar #189 to #188 - erotictentacle (08/05/2013) [-]
of course it does. Not only is it proven that smoking makes people more efficient workers, but also is it relaxing to many people to have a smoke. Plus, smokers make the best chat-buddies
User avatar #190 to #189 - konradkurze (08/05/2013) [-]
proven? really....
proof please, ive seen tons of non-smokers more productive than smokers, its all about the mindset of the people,
if smokers need to intake chemicals to achieve what non-smokers can do if they tried, then smoking is only practical to get lazy people to work harder with a self-reward system

and proof on the relaxation part, do they actually relax people or is it more a self-taught thing of someone consuming something and telling themselves it relaxes them....like a fat person eating comfort food
User avatar #191 to #190 - erotictentacle (08/05/2013) [-]
Even if it's a mindset, motivation and the drive to be efficient comes from the mind, so it's like a placebo
User avatar #192 to #191 - konradkurze (08/05/2013) [-]
well that report did show smokers shoot themselves in the foot here....yes they are slightly more productive in the short-term BUT they are twice as likely to call sick, thus the days off drop their overall work production

all in all its not the smoking so much as it is just taking more breaks away from work to relieve the tedium of linear work.......and it could be that smokers, upon coming back from a smoke break work harder as they think what work they could have done in that time and try to catch up by working harder, so not the smoking but more the panic to meet a personal deadline despite the break

User avatar #31 to #29 - thefogwoggler (08/04/2013) [-]
technically yeah but the amount of "poison" you're getting from the accidental inhale of second hand smoke in an open area would be so minuscule it wouldn't even make the slightest difference, even if it happened once every hour, and if you're so worried don't hang around people who smoke or if you walk into smoke hold your breath and don't inhale.
User avatar #32 to #31 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
well it comes down to, i shouldnt have to, everyone has a human right to fresh air why should we have to deal with those violating that
User avatar #33 to #32 - thefogwoggler (08/04/2013) [-]
ok first off people have a right ton enjoy a smoke and secondly, you're acting as if it's everywhere and if you open the door you just get hit with a wall of smoke no you want fresh air move your lazy ass 10 ******* steps away.
User avatar #34 to #33 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
because living in a city where alot of people smoke, one barely gets 10 feet between people smoking in public
the only real place away from cigarette smoke is in the middle of the freakin road with the cars

where the heck do you live?
User avatar #35 to #34 - thefogwoggler (08/04/2013) [-]
i live in blackpool england thanks for asking, a **** town where you get many, many smokers, and when i was younger and i saw someone smoke i would step to the side and the thin trail of smoke coming off their cigarette to avoid me, its not like a thick cloud comes off in all directions does it?
User avatar #36 to #35 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
well, in real life, smoke spreads out and is carried by wind too, so it does spread away from the smokers, and when you have multiple smokers on the street, theres precious little smoke-free space
User avatar #37 to #36 - thefogwoggler (08/04/2013) [-]

User avatar #44 to #38 - thefogwoggler (08/04/2013) [-]
at what point did i say you have to go, i said " why not just move" i'm offering it as a solution because of your hatred of second hand smoke, people are going to smoke no matter whether you support it and if you despise it so passionately your only other option is to move out of this city you live in where instead of air you just breath in smoke, because people aren't going to stop because you dislike it
User avatar #45 to #44 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
well it just seems stupid that myself and other healthy people have to give up our lives to revolve around the smokers disgusting habits

you don't have to change your lives me saying move was me offering a solution not me saying you have to, give me one example of when you have had to make sacrifices or give up your lives.
User avatar #49 to #46 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
well the solution you suggested was non-smokers making the sacrifice of relocating themselves away from smokers....which effectively means the smokers have done a wrong and won the battle from it

your solution punishes the victim
User avatar #50 to #49 - thefogwoggler (08/04/2013) [-]
there are many different solutions perhaps the best being "stop being a little bitch" and i wasn't saying non smokers i was saying you 99 percent of none smokers i know do not give a **** , oh and smokers aren't doing a wrong for smoking you are because your treating them like they're walking around covered in child blood

quote "Nobody is forcing you to walk those streets or live where you live, if you don't like it move"

its bad enough people have to breathe **** from everyone driving their cars everywhere even on sadly short trips they could easily walk, but assnapkins breathing second-hand **** at everyone else for no practical reason is worse

let me know when you get lung cancer from 2nd hand smoke then tell m how you feel about what the dumbasses did to you
#15 to #14 - anon (08/04/2013) [-]
Nowhere in that sentence did I say you have to move.

It's their choice, who the **** are you to tell someone when they can drive their car or not.

And unless someone is actively blowing smoke directly into your mouth for hours on end your chances of getting cancer from 2nd hand smoke are negligible.
User avatar #16 to #15 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
theres no point arguing with you, youre heads so full of ******** youre not even reading what youre writing

you said noones forcing me to live where i live, if i dont like it, move
people use cars for practical reasons, smoking is not practical
are you a doctor yourself of just quoting **** from state paid doctors who wont tell the truth about 2nd hand smoking in case the tobacco corporations get mad

stop breathing, you stealing oxygen is more hazardous to this planet than cars and cigarettes combined
#17 to #16 - anon (08/04/2013) [-]
Again, nowhere did I say if you didn't like smokers you have to move, just that if you don't like them you should.
Are you a doctor then? Since you claim to have so much information about 2nd hand smoke? Generous estimates put 2nd hand smoke cancer chances at 1 in 103,666, estimates might I add that were thrown out in court do to cherry picking the information, so 1 in 103,666 is literally the most even corrupt studies have found.

Maybe you should stop being such a baby and quit trying to have everyone conform to your likes or dislikes.

il take a wild guess that youre an american, your whole argument has been "MUH FREEDUMS" and defending peoples freedom to do anything regardless how it affects others
User avatar #21 to #18 - darthblam (08/04/2013) [-]
I understand what you're saying..

But you're acting like a serious jackass right now...
#20 to #18 - anon (08/04/2013) [-]
So now we're on to personal attacks? I had no idea your argument was that flimsy we were already at that point.
User avatar #22 to #20 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
ahem, you're the one who's entire argument has been raping logic by supporting people have the 'right' to do stupid **** to others by forcing things upon them
that combined with telling me "if i dont like smokers then move somewhere else"

the only reason 2nd hand smoke cancer was thrown out is because thers dozens of other things forced into human life that also cause cancers, so since every cancer victim cant pinpoint any one thing that gave them the cancer, all those things that contributed to the cancer get away free

plus the jucidial system is a sate entity, and the state belongs to the corporations, they wont allow th law enforcers to apply laws to them

can you say at least one thing, ever, that isnt ******* into your head from the media
#23 to #22 - anon (08/04/2013) [-]
So what you're saying is you can't say for certain where a person gets cancer from, so it would be impossible to tell that 2nd hand smoke caused cancer or not, but you're still deathly afraid of it? That's paranoia.
The courts denounced the information along with 90% of scientific experts on the subject, so yeah i'm sure it's one big conspiracy.
And people shouldn't have the right to do something you can't prove causes any significant harm? Go to China if you wan't a nanny state, get your ******** out of the civilized world.
User avatar #24 to #23 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
well it comes back to the point, its bad enough people using tgheir cars to go everywhere, (with exhaust fumes everywhere, helping cancer) but cars are practical, while cigarettes arent, so theyre helping cancer without any purpose.

plus youre waving your ignorance around by preaching 'ermagerd conspiracy" the courts DO cover **** up when the truth is harmful to the government and its corporate masters....why do you think they go ******* when whistleblowers speak - they like to say whistleblowers are good, only to lure them out and shut them up to keep secrets SECRET

lus cigarettes do cause harm...enough people have lobbied together to force tobacco compaines to label their products "smoking may cause X medical problems" meaning its one of several things that do contribute towards cancer

if the 'civilised' world is filled with ignorant ********* puppets like you then id gladly take any 'uncivilized' location
#25 to #24 - anon (08/04/2013) [-]
To you they serve no purpose, others find them enjoyable.

Can you prove there's a active conspiracy against 2nd hand smoke right now? If not then there isn't any reason to believe there is.

I never said cigarettes don't cause harm.

And again, personal attacks? Come back with proof or don't bother responding.
User avatar #26 to #25 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
yep, and some people think that rape and murder are enjoyable
doesnt make those choices that harm others right do they

cigarettes cause medical issues, but since not everyone smokes, they fabricated evidence to downplay the effect of 2nd hand smoke to convince people its not so bad so they dont worry as much, and end up still needing medical treatment later on

doctors offices and hospitals are state profit generators and with the state allowing so many harmful things to happen in day to day life it guarantees that people will regularly end up visiting them for check ups and relying on treatments to stay 'healthy' and keep money rolling in

i think we're done here, your ignorance is dissolving my brain matter
User avatar #119 to #26 - pedobearseviltwin (08/04/2013) [-]
lol, as if you had any brain matter to begin with.

dont you realize that sick people are costing the state more money than they are gaining through medical bills? i wont say thats the way it is in the US, but if you look at my country, Norway, you will se that the state is paying for medical treatment and partially pays for the sick leave. Illness costs the state billions a year, and still they allow it and does not claim 2nd hand smoking to be more dangerous than other countries claim.

And what are your sources on your claims that they fabric evidence?

Will you please explain that?

oh hey there anonysheep, bleating more 'sauce or its just conspiracy" are we?

[The 2010 U.S. Surgeon General's Report, How Tobacco Smoke Causes Disease, confirms that even occasional exposure to secondhand smoke is harmful]

last ones a kicker, see any celebrites you knew? they died from smoking-related diseases and its a proven fact 2nd hand smoke contributes to the same diseases,..but does the medical system make that real public....nope
User avatar #136 to #89 - klaes (08/04/2013) [-]
We get a base dosage of radiation wherever we go in big cities. There are hazards everywhere. In Europe, at least in the Netherlands, smokers aren't allowed to smoke in restaurants, cars, inside buildings, etc. The street is the only place they can do it.

If you want a smoke free enviroment, move to latin american. Here all they do is get drunk and dance
User avatar #173 to #136 - konradkurze (08/04/2013) [-]
well alot of the south americans are a bit better than westerners
less smoking, theyre more positive and friendly, and they dont just sit back and 'deal with it' when they find their government is ****

the world needs to learn from them
#27 to #26 - anon (08/04/2013) [-]
So what you're saying is you've got no proof, alrighty then, you've lost.
