Dude no and yes, no because you cannot place cactus with a block it will turn into a item again so it must been a 3 by 3 hole with a cactus in the middle and that isn't very good looking like lava, and if you were saying a 2 deep hole with a cactus in there if you fall in you would with lava, would be trapped in there.

I JUST SLAPPED SOME SCIENCE YOU YOU!

Not the point. Touching the cactus will hurt, but you wont be set on fire, the cactus is easier to avoid if you fall into the hole, and it's easier to gain materials for a cactus disposal than a lava disposal.

Yeah, that's what I'm telling you. The obsidian as a dropped item will burn in lava and can even be lost in an explosion. It's when you place it as a block that it gets its benefits.

You were originally a glitch in the game. A bug in the system that was not meant to exist. You are a living cancer that grew form and shape and whilst you condemn me for my vain creations, the only thing that you can do is destroy and in your attempts to end me, you care not for the land that you break nor the creatures that you immolate in your final, hate-filled act of self-entitled revenge.

You -are- the monster.

The only thing that I see likable about the xbox version compared to PC version is not having to remember the crafting recipes if you're a casual and if you prefer a controller over keyboard. And I'm not sure about minecraft but for some games you can hook up a controller to the PC and use it.

No. I like the Xbox version more. I like the feel of the controller, (Yes, I am aware you can use a controller on PC, I just think its better that you dont have to do all the work to use one on PC) and I love the smoothness and the ability to build entire towns with my friends. Yes, the worlds are limited, but its not that big of a deal, the worlds are actually pretty huge, and I dont think you'd end up filling an entire world up with creations, and if you do, you can be proud of that. The crafting can be a Con or a Pro, for me, its both because I like the ability to craft anything easily, yet I just like the PC crafting as it shows skill. After the new Title Update 12 for Xbox, I think they'll be pretty much caught up.

TL;DR
I think the Xbox has Pros and Cons over the PC version, but both are a excellent choice.

PC has a lot more stuff, worldwide online multiplayer (not limited to your friends list), texture packs, mods, you dont have to pay for skins, and in my opinion, its easier to play on PC. Also, while xbox doesn't have hoppers, horses, redstone blocks and other stuff, PC does

Maybe your pc is not able to handle minecraft that well and because the xbox version is lighter and simpler(so it runs smother) you believe it to be better? I've played Mc on droid tablets, iPads and Pcs; and Pc is a far more immersing experience than the any i've tried.

Iunno, I have played MC on a capable PC, still didn't feel it. Java just really gets to me head sometimes. But I do like the PC version better based on mods, controls, Texture packs, and skinning. And yes, my PC is a bit low-end, running Intel HD 3000, which is bad since MC doesn't really work well with integrated graphics. But it seems to work better on Linux than it did on Windows, so, that's good I guess.

Try having 4 large chests full of cobblestone, 1 full of stone, 1 full of dirt, 2 for food and seeds/wheat, 2 for tools, 1 for iron, gold, diamond, coal, clay, and some other building materials, and 1 for other junk.
While your buddy on the server, spends his days trying to use up all the materials by building skyscrapers and ****. Like, he goes and builds a 5 block wide wall, 10 blocks high, around a 100 block area, and fills in the center of it, just trying to burn up all the cobblestone mined.

In my single player world I had almost 30 large chests of cobblestone until I started not saving it and getting rid of it. I use only stone tools for general purpose digging because that's the only way to slow the flow of it for me. (I have 1 iron pickaxe and 1 diamond pickaxe at a time for ores and obsidian.)

Cobblestone is renewable and flipping everywhere, so I can get rid of that, but dirt and gravel not so much. For dirt I've got a tunnel that goes to bedrock, and am mining out all of the stone in bedrock and replacing it with dirt, and expanding that further outwards.

For efficiency, I've gotten to where I just dig out a staircase style wall at the front of my mine, this way I can progressively dig downward and outward from layer 30 to bedrock, without having to set up a scaffold system or anything, and you can make it as wide as you desire, then, so you can dig 10 blocks wide, and just step down as you dig out. This means you don't have to stop digging until you run out of inventory space, or tools.
I keep 5 cobblestone pickaxes, simply because they won't last long enough to matter (I always end up burning through more iron pickaxes than iron I find), 1 diamond pickaxe, for gold, obsidian, and diamonds, then a couple shovels, usually 1 iron, 1 cobble, or just 1 diamond, and a sword, I prefer iron to keep diamond use down.
I was supplying some 6 people on a server once with all the cobblestone they could possibly use. And still had enough for my buddy to build lighthouses everywhere.

tbh. this doesnt sound very efficient at all. the only biome to branch mine in is extreme hills because you can find emeralds. there is no reason to dig anything y>16 because the diamonds are all at y<=16 and thats what youre really after. 10 wide? horribly inefficient. single wide shafts with two spaces in between. you dont need to mine all the stone, you just need to see it so you can see ores (esp. diamond). leave y=16 as your ceiling. dig out y=15 to y=12. leave 11 and 10 as your 'floor' and ceiling' and dig out y=9 to y=6. then branch single wide shafts off the main with two blocks in between. that way...you can see the most while digging the least.
p.s. you should never ever ever use less than an iron pick. so freaking slow. you will find enough iron to keep yourself in picks if you dont waste so much time digging needless blocks.

I run a FTB server for myself and a few friends. Barrels can hold 4096 of a single item, takes up one block of space, same as a single chest. We would have walls of dirt and cobble barrels.
