Actually, I love my Mac. To the people that only use their Mac for Facebook and tumblr (I'm looking at you hipster girls), yeah they're idiots. I don't play computer games because I use a console for that. I like to use photoshop and I enjoy the compatability of my iPhone with my Mac. Just because a Mac isn't for you, doesn't mean it's not for everybody.
Pic related, my favorite comparison of the 2.

Honestly, I don't like my Mac. The only thing I use is the internet and video editor (I'm not a fan of that either). I'd love the ability to play PC games (I'm also console gamer, but I wanna start using PC a bit for sales reasons, and to see what the fuss is all about), and as a musician, I prefer using a certain music recorder called Audacity that only works right on a PC (not a big fan of Garage Band). Add poor battery life, constant freezing, lack of a disc drive (MacBook Air), and the fact that I can somehow feel static when it's charging once in awhile... By the way, as someone who doesn't know much about photoshop, is that a computer app, or is that a specific website?

No offense man, but I wouldn't call someone who uses Audacity a musician. If you don't like garageband, don't use it. I use logic pro. The problem with people with Mac's are that they don't know anything half the time and they give Windows users good reason to mock them.

I use Audacity because I don't have money for anything better than that, I can record multiple tracks (I'm not in a band, so I play all the instruments... yes, I know how), and I just find it easier to use. I will look into Logic Pro to see the features.

Yeah, and Windows can run Mac. You just never hear people bragging about it because there's no need to ever run Mac OS through Windows while if you couldn't run Windows through Macs, they would be virtually useless.

PCs are not only Facebook devices, they are used for several tasks.
Almost all games will run on it as well and almost all software with minimal problems.
Their specs are excellent and you can make alot of new software on them, they don't get viruses unless you are an idiot, and they have a very efficient OS

>Don't get viruses.
Macs don't get viruses for the same reason the Wii doesn't get viruses through its browser. No one is ******* coding viruses for them. THat is extremely far from true with macs now though, there are plenty of viruses out there and macs get them just as easily as any unprotected pc.

Nope. Apple design Macs specifically to have a short lifetime so that you have to buy another one. All that 'integrated design' marketting crap? Yeh thats so that when any single part fails, the whole thing becomes useless. If any single part of a PC goes then you simply replace it and all it takes is an hour or so to drive to a shop and buy the part. PC parts also have much better warranties - usually around 3 years, which is longer than the expected life of any Mac product.

I'm a computer engineer, I have two computers in my house. Ones a windows (not a pc, anyone who thinks it is called a pc should be told it stands for personal computer, and does not mean it runs windows), and the other is a mac. Now, I use one for gaming and one for work? Which one is which? I actually use the mac for gaming, my wife records videos on the computer and walkthroughs and any game I can play on a windows I can play on the mac with the correct setup, and I prefer the video quality on it. I've found a more easily accessible recording software for people who don't know computers (such as my wife). It is nicer to just close and open because of the SSD so its faster to start up. It's also good for surfing the net, I'll admit it is a bit pricey, but still, I'd say for the amount of time it has lasted us it has at least broke even in terms of price if I paid it minimum wage. Now, onto the windows, it's nice for work, better software for doing what I do. Really, it's not about who's "right" and who's "wrong", it's not about price, as I said I'm a computer engineer and neither of you are paying a fair price for the technology you are buying. It's really about preference, some people prefer one, some people prefer the other, that's all it comes down to. And that's all it should come down to, is preference.

Thats also a marketting misconception. There are less viruses for Macs due simply to the lower market share and the fact that important server stuff is never done on them. They are just as susceptible to being attacked from porn sites or other however. Also due to the Mac-users mentallity of 'No viruses on Mac' the few that are created for them tend to spread more and stay around in systems far longer - the difference being that you'll probably just pay for Apple to fix the laptop or buy a new one.

Wait, there's a Mac virus? The reason why I know Macs don't get viruses as easily because PC coded viruses are more common than Mac coded viruses. PC viruses cannot harm Mac computers and vice versa. It's because Mac codes are private while PC codes are public.

There are hundreds...using the term 'virus' in the more colloquial way rather than the technical. (This is how Apple got by saying 'no viruses' for so long, they don't classify 90% of malware as a virus.)

Thats the problem of having an open OS compared to a draconic lock-in system - it's easier for people to make malware, but not impossible to create something that will **** over a Mac. Remember the security hole that meant that theoretically a virus could make the battery of certain Macbooks literally explode?

They really aren't tuned enough to justify the extra cost. Every claim that "Mac is better than a PC for X Y Z" is simply marketting fluff. For a fraction of the cost you can design a PC that will outperform any Mac in any task.

he extra cost is literally just for the branding, like paying $50 for a tee.

Tell me more, im not hating on PC or Macs i just hear people say PC's are far better with so much customizing and games and run many programs, on the other hand you have Macs for simple tasks but pretty smooth (the OS) which makes it better and faster for photoshop designers and video editors, which kinda makes sense but not very sure if its worth the money. Im thinking of buying a new PC or Mac.

Explain me why do you think that a computer with that price has no quality?
I really understand the hating over macs. You can't play with one, then "why someone would buy that? Omg, pcs are for gaming!"

Macs shows great performance for design programs or even xcode and eclipse for developers. His SO barely give problems, they are upgradable and it will last for years. Not a pc for game, it's for work. You will se people using it in offices most common than using pc with windows. There are people who prefer and insists having a windows pc for work (like me, it's cheaper, so I can choose something better. But as a Graphic Designer, if something crash. I'm ******. While working with a mac I wouldn't have this problems. It's about person to person opinion and preference)

sorry about my english

I for one am glad that people are still being conditioned by apple to pay vastly more for an equivalent product just because of a sense of branding and looking cool. Why? Because it means in our business we can usse the same tactics to hork up the prices for the same poor saps. People 'hate on Macs' because they feel sorry for the people being ripped off- I say keep buying, and while you're at it pick up some Dr. Dre beats, a few $50 Hollister tees and maybe some 'designer' jeans.

I get minted off people like you ;)

Well, I didn't mean what I said. My dad bought our new family computer, a Mac. I like it, but it's only good for internet. I can my save Keynote or Pages work on my flash drive and bring it to school, but I can't use them on the school's computer which are Windows stuff. Plus, Keynote and Pages are so complicated, much different than the simple Powerpoint and Word. There's no Paint and so I can't make pics to upload on Funnyjunk. I want to play certain games, but I need some stuff. I don't really know how to use a Mac, which doesn't make it bad but it's no PC. As the pic says, it's just a Facebook machine.
