KS prealpha release. Read description. Ok, so yesterday I uploaded a picture about the Hanako's true ending path in the prealpha release, I thought a lot of peo

Ok, so yesterday I uploaded a picture about the Hanako's true ending path in the prealpha release, I thought a lot of people in here already knew about that, but I guess I was mistaken. The original DL link was taken down, so I uploaded my copy of the prealpha release to Mega.

This prealpha release has the scripts before the final game, and there are some severe changes in Shizune and Hanako's routes. Theres a group on steam who are working to restore all the prealpha to a playable state, they are using the same sprites and music from the final game.

On this copy, the Hanako's bad endings (there are 3 oh god) have no images, its just a white screen with text, but the good ending is completely playable, with new sceneries, sprites, events and CG's.

Shizune's path has no images right before the Tanabata festival, and from there on its only text.

So, just download it, its a .RAR file, unzip the folder and run the "renpy.exe", it will probably have my save states lol, you can just start a new game and skip everything and just make the right choices to get into Hanako's path, Act 1 and 2 are the same so just keep skipping until you get a note from the editor, from there its all new.

LINK: mega.co.nz/#!UMo3jKbK!a2XFcgS5H2KyAdbH6G4non17WC5gvszsmZSxw5sK-mc

Shizune's path its kind of the same until the end of Act 2.

I feel a pressure on my back, and realise that Hhanako has wrapped her arms around
me, pulling me into this embrace.

Thank you for teaching me so much, Hanako.

Man, that Shizune bad ending.... **** .
And Hanako's bad endings are completely out to left field.
**** them. I'm glad they don't exist.

Yeh I know. But i dont get why they didnt keep the Hanako good ending. Also the Shizune prealpha route is waaay better than the original, of course, without the Misha thing. She is more affectionate towards Hisao. The final Shizune its like she doesnt care about him at all.
User avatar #6 to #5 - theCkid (07/25/2013) [-]
Well, are Hanako's parents alive in the final product? I'm not quite sure, been a while since I've played it.
And with Shizune, I think she's more affectionate in prealpha because Misha dies. This is what I think about Shizune's route, and I don't think anyone else has said it.

I think that Shizune is so indifferent about the fact that she's in a relationship is because the writer of the route didn't have one girl to focus on, he had 2. So, this route wasn't romantically focused, but more friendship focused. It was a two-girl route and a romance wouldn't work. Even Shizune's sex scenes felt forced. In the good ending, it doesn't end with some nice sentiment about Shizune and Hisao's future together, but rather it was Hisao, Shizune, and Misha's prospects for the future, happy, but not necessarily together. And that's why I like the route, now that I think I understand it.
What do you think, think that this might be somewhat accurate or I'm just spouting **** out my ass and reading too much into it?

I see where you are going, and i agree with some of it for sure! However, I wouldnt go so far as to say that Shizune was indifferent towards you. Infact, if you look close in all of the routes, its pretty clear that she -does- like you. She just has a way of challenging you to see/do things. To bring out the best in you! She isnt going to spell it out for you! haha.
Alot of her route is based around the idea of communication, an example of which being her lack of an ability TO communicate effectively. And I mean that by her personality, not her disability. She does like Hisao, however its not so in your face about it. Its all about subtlety. Very much like her. As for the ending, they did give a sort of closure to the story, but I loved how they left it open for your own ideas. The line "I will keep chasing Shizune" sticks with me. I loved the Shizune route. It was very special to me, and is definately my favorite.

It was my second favorite, behind Emi. I didn't really mean indifferent, it was the only word I could think of. I don't remember who said it on Funnyjunk, but he described Hisao and Shizune's relationship as "lukewarm at best" and I feel that was accurate. Even though they're going out, Shizune barely hugs, kisses, or shows any romantic gestures exclusively towards Hisao. Its basically like they're friends, but they **** twice cause the head of the project said "they've gotta **** twice, minimum, and we hafta see tits at least once". The story is touching, and I like it, but it focuses less on the romance, and more about moving on.
#23 to #19 - Zailen (07/25/2013) [-]
Indeed. I really liked that about them. I didnt feel the sex scenes were so forced however. I thought of it as more...spontaneous and...ehh...whats the word? not intense...But...assertive...Like her. Its fitting. xD. I really liked the different pace this route had from the others. Everyone has read the mushy crushy love stories where everyone is super into eachother, but honestly, that isnt how love USUALLY works! Its more -lukewarm- as you said. Alot of second guessing yourself, risk taking, and wondering. But in the end when you search yourself, as those two have, they find that they can no longer live without eachother. And if they can, it'd be missing something. I loved how it really based around a relationship on all fronts, not just a romance. I honestly though the simple scenes where they hung out, and teased eachother alot more touching than the deepest of love scenes in Katawa Shoujo. But I understand. Different strokes for different folks! haha. THOUGH! I am happy to hear you enjoyed the route! We need more Shizune love in here. The Alliance is always supportive of fans of the Shizune variety.

Hanako's parents are dead, thats her main problem, even more than the scars. She always blames herself about that. Also in the prealpha theres a scene that relates what happened the day Hanako's parents died.

And Shizune is more affectionate even before the Misha thing. But yeh, you are right about the final route being more focused on friendship than romance.
I also read that Shizune's prealpha path was written by someone else, Im not sure about that though.

Okay, good, I was right about Hanako. Glad I still remember stuff. Do you find it funny that never, has anyone, either as a joke, or an insult, or even a Kotaku post, has anyone ever called her an orphan? I feel like that would be a more noted point. I don't even like Hanako that much, I just kinda noticed it. Sorry if I'm writing too much, I don't get to talk about this stuff too often.
User avatar #9 to #8 - ramsesmfg [OP](07/25/2013) [-]
Well there are some mentions about her life while in the orphanage and how they treated her. I know that feel about not talking about this too much, thats exactly why I posted this lol.
User avatar #10 to #9 - theCkid (07/25/2013) [-]
I just mean, the first thing that people mention about the game is " **** crippled girls" then they describe them all. And Hanako is either described as "burn-victim" and then "shy girl" but the adjective orphan never gets thrown in there.
User avatar #11 to #10 - ramsesmfg [OP](07/25/2013) [-]
Oh I see what you mean now, it is actually kind of weird, I have never noticed. I guess its easier to describe their physical disabilities. Like Rin the one with no arms instead of Rin the crazy one with some level of autism/aspergers, heh.
User avatar #12 to #11 - theCkid (07/25/2013) [-]
Huh, yeah, you're right. I never think about Rin. I love art of her, but she's actually my least favorite. Never played her route really.
User avatar #13 to #12 - ramsesmfg [OP](07/25/2013) [-]
I thought I was going dislike her route, but its actually my second favorite after Hanako's, too bad it gives me headaches and Rin is just ******* frustrating some times lol. She also has the best endings imo, even the neutral one.

I've heard, and I've seen the screenshots and it looks great

I seriously don't want to go throught that **** again...

I already heard and read the true ending for hanako and all 3 bad ends

If possible can you send me a message of what the shizune acts are like after act 2

I would be very grateful

The pastebin at the bottom of the description. I wrote all the endings there.

"And now, the hanako endings . . . gawd"

when i read that, i prepared myself
User avatar #22 to #20 - ramsesmfg [OP](07/25/2013) [-]
They are just so grim lol. cpl_crud (Hanako's path writer) said in an interview that while he was writing hanako's path in the beta, he was heavily influenced by Higurashi (horror VN). I guess he realized that those endings just didnt make any sense at all in Katawa Shoujo, thats why they changed them.
User avatar #15 to #2 - unknowntablets (07/25/2013) [-]
Nice... I read them all.

By the way has mutou's pre-alpha history been leaked yet?

Is this still being worked on? Because there aren't any pictures or sounds after act 2 of shizune's path.
User avatar #48 to #47 - ramsesmfg [OP](07/28/2013) [-]
No, it is an old version of the actual game, this is like a beta of KS. Shizune's path is not finished, after that is just text. But the route is way different than the final game. Its still worth the read
User avatar #49 to #48 - kschmidty (07/28/2013) [-]
I meant are they going to make pictures that for the rest of it.
User avatar #50 to #49 - ramsesmfg [OP](07/28/2013) [-]
No, they are not going to finish it. The Hanako good ending does have new scenes, events, sceneries and cg's though, its finished and different from the final game.
User avatar #52 to #50 - kschmidty (07/28/2013) [-]
One last question. While playing through Hanako's route there isn't any sound at the beginning of Act 2. Is this normal?
User avatar #53 to #52 - ramsesmfg [OP](07/29/2013) [-]
I dont know, I skipped that because its the same as the final game. But after the choice of good ending/bad endings, the bad endings have no images, just text. The good ending is finished though.
User avatar #54 to #53 - kschmidty (07/29/2013) [-]
Does it have sound?

Have no idea who is still on this comment section, but I have no idea why Hanako's original story was scraped. Not to say I was necessarily displeased with the final, but the original was so much better!
User avatar #44 to #42 - ramsesmfg [OP](07/27/2013) [-]
You did the good route? Why displeased? Or are you talking about the bad endings.
User avatar #45 to #44 - nitsuan (07/27/2013) [-]
No, I am saying her good rout was awesome; much better than the final release of the game. As for the bad routs, no way in hell I could stomach those so I just read them lol

I didn't get how Shizune and Misha were in the opening scene of the classroom, but in Shizune's route they claim to not be in the same class. But I do like that there is an autosave!!!
User avatar #41 to #40 - ramsesmfg [OP](07/27/2013) [-]
They are together in Mutou's science class. I think I remember Shizune or Misha saying they are in a different math class.
