They made Harry Potter tv series ?!?!

Richard Harris was the Dumbledore from the books. Michael Gambon understandably went in a different direction, but it really is too bad Richard Harris couldn't finish the series. He WAS Dumbledore!

Goblet of Fire was the worst one. Hands down. OOTP was slightly better. HBP slightly better. Then they finally got their **** together with the last two movies. I was still annoyed with the plot changes, but at least they were good movies.

Seriously? OOTP was the biggest piece of **** in the entire series.

I think you could argue for either GoF or OOTP, but GOF just cut out soooooo much and focused on the most stupid, inane parts of the book...I think it's unforgivable.

Agreed, but OOTP just felt like they said " **** the books, let's do whatever we want". It was also the longest book with the shortest movie - they left out a LOT. I haven't read the books in years now, but I remember when the movie came out it pissed me off into oblivion because of what they did to it. GOF didn't get that reaction from me, maybe because there were actually good parts in it (I liked the harry vs dragon scene in the movie) even though it left out a lot but OOTP just felt like an all around worse movie.

I like them all equally with 1 and 2 slightly higher and 7/8 right below them.

Favorite of mine was Chamber of Secrets

Mine too. It was so true to the book. Plus Richard Harris.

See, I've been told that if you did not read the books, OOTP was extremely hard to follow in the theatres.

OOTP was hard to follow while having read the book. I could barely sit through it

The prisoner of Azkaban was the worst in my opinion. followed by the fourth
User avatar #45 to #29 - yusay (07/24/2013) [-]
Really? I thought that Azkaban was really good. Followed most of the book and did scenes very well.

Prisoner of Azkaban was my favourite, right after HBP

I really like Azkaban as well. My least favorite is HBP. I feel like the whole christmas-burning-burrow scene was so completely out of the blue, as well as the stupid intro scene with the café girl. Also, I can never really let the casting of Slughorn go. In the books, he is clearly described as short, very fat, bald and with a giant moustache. in the movie he's tall, slim, has a full head of hair and no moustache whatsoever. Like, come on??

HBP, OoTF and GoF cut out way too much and changed too many scenes to be enjoyable for me. The only thing I could commend any of them on is that GoF did the scene in the graveyard very well and I actually preferred the Dragon event in the movie to the book (book felt a little anticlimactic).

His appearance was very off, but I will admit his acting was quite good. And I did like the appearance of Snape and Sirius in the movies to the books.

Oh, Jim Broadbent nailed the character, that's not an issue for me. I really like virtually all the portrayals character-wise, with the exception of certain parts of Gambon's Dumbledore. And most of the other characters looked fine (if you can look away from the whole eye-colour thing).

It's a little hard to say this, as a life-long fan of the series, but the movies are actually not that good. The first two I think they really nailed, as well as the last two. The four in the middle, though...

I've been a lifelong fan as well, and I can agree with you. I thought the first three movies were quite good and so were the last two, but that was it. GoF, OotF and HBP just had too much content to cover and it hurt the films.
User avatar #284 to #123 - ninjaspartan (07/25/2013) [-]
Well, if you don't concern yourself with all the content you expected to see and instead just looked at the content presented to you in the movie they'd be a bit more enjoyable. That being said, OotP and PoA are the only ones that are still hurting from that pov. Even then, it's only because they were too rushed. I felt that PoA really killed Sirius' introduction as a character with the way the pacing ran, and OotP was just clearly hacked into bits. While the book for HBP was obviously much better, I still find HPB very enjoyable.
