For people that died when they were babies at least.
User avatar #66 to #26 - brenton (07/24/2013) [-]
Actually, that was around the age most people who made it past early childhood lived to be. The average life expectancy was much lower than now because of the high infant mortality of the time, but if you didn't die as a baby, chances were you would live to be between 70 and 80 years old. I think that's what CRosBY was getting at, too.

Oh, sax is easy to play is it? When you're asked to do a sax solo flawlessly in front of 200 people for Lost Lady Found, then you can tell me it's easy...
User avatar #51 to #49 - notsolonleyisland (07/24/2013) [-]
Compared to other instruments, yes, it is easy.
User avatar #55 to #51 - flambenobunaga (07/24/2013) [-]
Here's how I look at it: It's easy to start playing the sax but in order to sound halfway decent, it takes a while practicing air flow and posture. Other instruments, on the other hand, take a while to learn, but when they do, they can sound decent without as much fine tuning as it does with the sax.

Easy in what sense? Because each instrument has its own learning curve, and I doubt there's a single one that is linear. Some are easier to start off but harder to master, and some have it vice-versa.

Straight male piccolo player reporting in.

Love the instrument.....and the girl/guy ratio.
User avatar #40 to #39 - notsolonleyisland (07/24/2013) [-]
Personally, i think it takes balls for a straight man to play flute.
User avatar #69 to #40 - brenton (07/24/2013) [-]
Why? Macho stereotypes in the music industry just don't exist anymore.
#80 to #39 - John Cena (07/24/2013) [-]
Do you play bone flutes?
User avatar #68 to #15 - brenton (07/24/2013) [-]
Easiest instrument to learn how to play, hardest instrument to learn how to play well. The saxophone has the most naturally occurring intonation problems out of any instrument, because if the holes were positioned in such a way that the intonation was better, the player wouldn't be able to reach the keys. It takes a whole lot more skill to master the intonation on a saxophone than it does on a brass instrument. Not saying that brass doesn't have its own challenges as well, but the saxophone has actually been proven to be more difficult to master.
