Sorry I don't have any metal thread,I only have metal wire.
User avatar #60 to #10 - fukkendragonite (07/24/2013) [-]
God, I'm sick of posers with their fake metal. Post some real metal like Steel or Iron. Metal wire isn't real metal dammit!! Get that poser metal out of here until you're a real metaller!

User avatar #61 to #60 - fukkendragonite (07/24/2013) [-]
This is how stupid metal elitists sound.

User avatar #100 to #91 - turtletroll ONLINE (07/24/2013) [-]
I think more kids would listen to One Direction or some **** like that not ******* Slayer or Behemoth don`t you think?
#236 to #100 - amonomous (07/25/2013) [-]
You're thinking of girls, not all children in general.
User avatar #237 to #236 - turtletroll ONLINE (07/25/2013) [-]
That is true. I started listening to Slayer and Maiden when i was about 8 but to be fair there probably isnt many kids who listen to metal
#66 - takaneuva (07/24/2013) [-]
Any Maiden fans on here?
#74 to #66 - smashingprodigy (07/24/2013) [-]
Going to see them in September along with Megadeth.

User avatar #77 to #75 - smashingprodigy (07/24/2013) [-]
I'm seeing them in Raleigh, N.C. It's the first show they're playing in the U.S. since last year I think. Really excited for it.

Saw 'em with Dream Theater in '10, and with Alice Cooper last year.

******* amazing, man

I think that the best 'branch' of metal is melodic death metal.
User avatar #19 to #16 - techketzer (07/24/2013) [-]
I'd agree.
The new Amon Amarth album is ******* amazing, btw.
User avatar #50 to #19 - decieverofthegods **User deleted account** (07/24/2013) [-]
YES!! 'Deciever of the gods' and 'as loke falls' are brilliant!
User avatar #20 to #19 - brio (07/24/2013) [-]
What do you think about the new CoB album?
User avatar #22 to #20 - techketzer (07/24/2013) [-]
Haven't checked it out yet.
Currently catching up on years of Swallow the Sun I somehow missed.
User avatar #25 to #22 - brio (07/24/2013) [-]
You should, it's got some pretty nice riffs
User avatar #26 to #25 - techketzer (07/24/2013) [-]
Will most certainly do.
Thank you, brother.
User avatar #62 to #16 - fukkendragonite (07/24/2013) [-]
You know, I always mean to dig deeper into melodic death metal. I'm not a fan of most death metal and extreme metal, but I can always make room in my life for ******* evil brutal, heavy **** , so it seems like it would be my kind of thing.

Any bands to recommend? Besides Amon Amarth, Children of Bodom and In Flames, because they're probably the only melodeath bands I've heard.
User avatar #268 to #62 - techketzer (07/26/2013) [-]
Here's a few more that happen to be my favourites.

Insomnium and Dark Tranquillity (the latter are more or less the founders of the genre) for a straight up metal taste.

Be'lakor and Ne Obliviscaris are a bit more proggy, but I think they pulled it off where so many failed at. You gotta hear it to believe the beauty in their music.

Starkill are somewhat in the middle of those types, and they ******* rock.

Wintersun is ******* amazing beyond words. Quite different from the others, though, and I've not found another band like them yet.

If you liked Amon Amarth, you're gonna like King of Asgard. Similar in taste, but still unique and fresh.

Saving my current obsession for last, bands like Swallow the Sun and Katatonia offer a blend of melodeath and doom metal that I fell in love with at pretty much the first note I heard.

Here's a few melodic death metal bands I would suggest you listen to:

1.'Mors principium est' I suggest you listen to 'Dead winds of hope' and 'Birth of the starchild' both of which can be found on the album '...And death said live'

2.'MyGrain' listen to 'xenomorphic' and 'Dust devils and cosmic storms' both are great songs.

3.'Lamb of God' slightly heavier than the previous two but good nonetheless, I'd listen to a few songs from the album 'Wrath'.

4. Finally, and one of my favourites (you may already know them) 'Dethklok' most of their songs are equally good but my favourites are:
'I tamper with the evidence at the murdersite of Odin'
'Murmaider II: The water God'
'Black fire upon us'

Hope I could help.
User avatar #67 to #64 - fukkendragonite (07/24/2013) [-]
Lamb of God, really? I wouldn't have considered Lamb of God melodic death metal... Fair enough I suppose.

I'll give the rest a listen.
User avatar #68 to #67 - decieverofthegods **User deleted account** (07/24/2013) [-]
I'd say they border the genre, and in my opinion they're not as good as the others I have mentioned, but still good.

The last photo...

I work in a pet store and I also live in a 'high traffic' metal-head and biker city. Nothing makes me as warm and fuzzy as a huge, angry looking biker guy walking in going "OOOOO WHO'S A CUTIE KITTY KITTY YES YOU ARE!"
#72 to #58 - John Cena (07/24/2013) [-]
I know a huge, angry looking biker guy who suddenly turns into a flamboyant homosexual when he speaks.

It's fun.
