After finding out how to do this, my start up sound is Legend of Zelda's "item get" and my log off is Mario's death tune

Not sure how different it is on Win 7 because I have Vista.

1.Control panel classic view
2.Click on Sound
3.window pops up
4.click Sounds tab
5.???
6.There will be Windows Default and Windows Default (Modified)
7. Click on any action then add the sound
8.apply

Right click desktop> adjust (I think that's how you translate it) > sound
