If I played a lot of racing games or something, that'd be cool. But only if you could change the settings to make it look like you were looking out the side windows or something.

I have 3 Viewsonic 1080p IPS monitors, and they're the "slim bezel" version, it's literally less than 1/8" between each monitor.

I agree that splitting up a game on multiple monitors is a ******* bad idea but other than that multiple monitors are really handy

Ditto, I heard you can dismantle them and take the black borders off, but I wouldn't trust any video I saw saying that.

Just get a bigger screen... Having more than one screen is pretty ****** , you have to deal with a black line in the middle or multiple black lines because you can't connect them truly..
#117 to #5 - anon (07/20/2013) [-]
but the bigger you go you lose quality unless you want to drop $1000+ for wqhd or 4k

I just use multiple monitors to multitask
#203 to #5 - anon (07/20/2013) [-]
loving the thumbs for this comment, probably all from poor children!

Extra screens add periphery in games. (great for faggots suffering tunnel vision)
You don't use cheap ass tv's with bezels the size of uranus in a multi setup.
1080p doesn't have enough pixels to get **** done.
Go back to 720p on your xbox.
User avatar #81 to #5 - joshlol (07/20/2013) [-]
Confirmed for retard with no idea what pixels are
User avatar #85 to #5 - Mortuus (07/20/2013) [-]
But.. But.. I have ADHD and I enjoy doing multiple things at once.

I play my games on the largest screen and do assorted other tasks on my other two screens.
#102 to #5 - doktorandus (07/20/2013) [-]
From what I've found, one big screen doesn't respond quite as quickly/smoothly as several optimized monitors do. I've had a 42 inch TV screen substitute for my monitor at some point and while it was still definitely managable in terms of responsiveness, it just didn't.. feel quite as nice.

When you're in the heat of the moment, that half a second of delay can really bite you in the ass if you only have a split second to respond to something.

But that's just conjecture of course. I feel with you, though. One big screen'd definitely be nice but I don't think the (actually affordable) processing power in large resolutions for things like gaming are quite there yet.
User avatar #152 to #5 - buriedstpatrick (07/20/2013) [-]
Having multiple screens is good for workflow if you're not gaming.
User avatar #211 to #5 - BubsyB (07/20/2013) [-]
I prefer to have to screens, but only play my games on one, Two screens is extremely handy for doing non gaming **** on your computer.
#18 to #5 - isbak (07/19/2013) [-]
You dont notice the borders when playing. There is a limit to how big of a moniter you can have 50 cm in front of your face, a 50 inch would just break your neck.
User avatar #6 to #5 - benk (07/19/2013) [-]
i dont think you understand the idea of multiple screens, not only does it increase size but the main reason people get multiple monitors is for the increased resolution. Most monitors are 1080p there are some that are 1440p and some that are 1600p thats as much as u can get (excluding 4k screens which cost as much as a car right now). But by putting 3 1080p screens together u can get 3x pixels. If you have 6 24 inch monitors yeah you could just by a tv the same size but it would be 1/6 the pixels. For gaming thats a big difference but for productivity its a massive difference, more pixels means more multitasking which means getting your work done faster.

tl;dr 3 screens= 3 times hd
User avatar #118 to #6 - mcmanybucks (07/20/2013) [-]
Well...if its just got gaming..which most people use it for..its pretty useless..just a bigger picture..
User avatar #122 to #118 - benk (07/20/2013) [-]
if u use it for gaming its not a bigger picture you get to see ur peripherals in the game. Its pretty awesome. I dont see myself getting it in the future too much $$, but if u have the money its really cool, the picture is not bigger, its like going from 4:3 to 16:9 its not bigger theres more of the game on the screen. A bigger screen makes the stuff bigger, more screens lets u see more. (plus the wrap around makes it really immersive because even ur peripheral vision still sees the game)
User avatar #149 to #122 - mcmanybucks (07/20/2013) [-]

www.amazon.com/Seiki-Digital-SE50UY04-50-Inch-120H or, you know, you could just get this. Sure, it's 50 inch, but it's quite cheap for a TV like that.
User avatar #82 to #9 - joshlol (07/20/2013) [-]
**** me that's dirt cheap, it's honestly a shame there isn't any TV shows being produced in this resolution now.
It's funny to think 60" TV's are being produced with a PPI of merely 36, it's time to advance to a higher standard resolution.
User avatar #11 to #9 - benk (07/19/2013) [-]
im not about to drop 1100 on a tv from a comanpy ive never heard of, the cheapest brand name is the sony for 5k (lg makes one for the low price of 14,999). now i know sony costs a little more for the name, but something tells me that some of that $3900 might have gone into things like quality assurance or customer support or overall quality of the tv
User avatar #13 to #11 - ifuckbabies **User deleted account** (07/19/2013) [-]
Just because you haven't heard of the company, doesn't mean it's bad. I've got some experience with it, and I've never had any problems.
User avatar #59 to #6 - CatHatMan (07/20/2013) [-]
Or use multiple projectors, no borders, just expensive. personally i just want an asus vg248qe 144hz monitor.

You can get a 55 inch 4k resolution screen for like 2k or less.
User avatar #83 to #7 - insaneguy (07/20/2013) [-]
You can get the same resolution with 6 monitors for less than half that price. If you shop around you can find thin-bezel options.
#19 - Epicflail (07/19/2013) [-]
I'd like one of those curved monitors. But for now I run a 19 inch main screen with the older 15 inch screen set up to the side for surfing waiting for battlegrounds to pop.

Oh, and I'm poor as **** and can't afford anything better.

that moniter is pointless most games dont even support a 21:9 aspect ratio, and even still, you see more horizontal game at the expense of vertical game

2 monitors is great. I have 2, and when I game, I use the second window for Youtube or other videos, or Teamspeak/Vent/Steam/Xfire. Plus, doing a research paper with browser in one monitor and MS werd in the other is amazingly helpful. More than 2 monitors though, is not very necessary.

is it just me or is the big, black lines (giggity) in the middle of your screens a bit off-putting? It kinda ruins the realism, so I'd prefer to just have one, or one of those long, arced ones.
