Skimmed it. While she was your typical extremist for woman rights, I should point out one thing in case you ever want to make a more valid argument. No woman is ever asking for it. I understand that dressing provocatively can be done to get attention, but it in no way warrants rape. There are also multiple reasons for dressing certain ways, but I digress. Yes, certain women should realize that they are placing themselves in more risk, but that doesn't translate to deserving rape. For example, if I go hiking and don't wear long socks and get a tick, I didn't deserve the tick bite but at the same time I may have prevented it by wearing something else.

Tl;DR Don't say someone was asking for it, as it makes your argument fall apart.

i've known this guy since we were kids and he would of never done anything to hurt me but he got soooo drunk (i had like 2 drinks so we were both tipsy) and he confessed that he liked me and started getting frisky, i said no but he was so ******* out of it he wasn't himself and things just got out of hand. the next day he realised what had happened and he was ******* distraught, i was mad at him but he was on the edge of suicide, he couldn't believe that he'd done such a thing. i didn't talk for him for a month until i got a phone call saying he'd overdosed and was in hospital so i visited him for the first time in ages, he wouldnt stop apologizing but i forgave him because you know what... beautiful people do bad things sometimes and yes rape is a horrible seemingly unforgivable thing but i forgave him because hes my best friend and i know that he didnt mean to do it (he told me later he was on all types of **** because he was going to ask me out but he was too nervous so he took pills) i could've ruined his ******* life and potentially sent him to his grave, because this stupid thing he did when he was 17 could've defined him for the rest of his life and i chose not to ruin him. and i didn't do it just for him i did it for myself because i really didnt mind it and it doesnt bother me anymore. i'm not saying all guys should get off the hook for it, im just saying that sometimes its not all bad (in my case it wasnt, cause i remember he was incredibly gentle) and were still good friends but it haunts him from time to time and hes still depressed so yeah /end rant.

dressing provokatively does not justify rape, nothing does. but if you willingly dress provokatively so you can willingly go to a private house party so you can willingly drink alchoho and willingly talk to a guy, don't say its rape the next day after he has sex with you.

rape = a stranger grabbing you off the street, riping your clothes off, and inserting a penis while you resist as hard as you can,

Rape is NOT however after you willingly do things over and makes it easy to have sex with you.
#930 to #444 - anon (07/19/2013) [-]
it doesnt justify rape, but it does put a huge sign over your head yelling "rape me" to the nearest rapist in the area.

id compare this to zimmermen, he shouldnt have got out of the car, but nothing says he couldnt if he wanted.. so was it his fault? apperiantly not, but people are using that arguement to say he is.

its just one of those things.. sure maybe not the same but still has the SAME concept.

she shouldnt be wearing slut clothes that show off too much skin, but she can if she wants. but they COULD have prevented her from getting raped, so what do you say about that?

If a girl is drunk and says yes to rape, it isn't rape, it's just sex. Morally, a sober man shoudn't have sex with a drunk woman, but it isn't rape. If a woman drinks too much beer and passes out, and then a man has sex with her without her consent, it is rape.

Just wanted to clear this up, it was hard to tell what you meant.

Actually, rape almost 90% of the time is committed by someone you know or are at least an acquaintance. I get what you're saying, but it's always best to be clear about these things.

you're right, she wasn't asking for it but maybe she was provoking it. if i walk through a black ghetto neighborhood dressed as a clan member i'm probably going to get killed right? i wasn't asking for it but i was provoking it. if you dress in a way that makes a rapist look at you and think "there's a prostitute or a whore i'm gonna **** " then maybe you're a bit at fault for not taking necessary precautions. should you have to take precautions? absolutely not, but it is the world we live in and the current unofficial rules we have in today's society

no woman will ever ask for rape, but they will go out asking for sex I have seen girls that literally have **** written on them like 'down to ***** or go around shouting that they want sex. these are the same girls that will then claim they weren't asking for it and say they just wanted to go out with their friends and have some fun and claim rape in the courts.
#413 to #92 - molehasmoles (07/18/2013) [-]
What do you mean? If it's rape it's rape, doesn't matter if they were asking for sex.

This is very true, but I think if you really fear it to this degree you probably just shouldn't poke the bear.
