or things just kinda petered out after that and we never got off planet again. Funny how we have to believe in dramatic moments - we destroy ourselves with nuclear bombs OR we explore the universe. Actually we are too lazy to do either.

It's also quite possible that we'll end up killing ourselves anyway. Inventing something else that intentionally or not kills us all off, or we just make the world unsuitable to live on.
