Woa, woa. this is purely opinion and he's been voted down for it? People may consider him to be wrong but there's no point of fact being discussed here; only opinion. So why has he been voted down? I swear you other FunnyJunk users are the most hypocritical ******* in the world; all you do is prattle on about free speech and "USA FREEDOMS YEAH" and then the instant someone has an unpopular opinion, he or she is voted down to the point where they don't have a voice, unlike the sheep-followers who get thumbed up.

Churchill has tough as nails. He'd sooner bite off his own fingers than surrender a square foot of land. He was a great war time leader. But the man was quite bloodthirsty.

well, history puts a bit too much of a positive spin on him. what they don't tell you is that he was notoriously bloodthirsty, even going so far as to attempt to provoke war with Russia before WWII ended. in wartime, yes, an excellent leader, but in peacetime, not exactly the guy you want running your country.

People also forget the military **** he pulled, like the Gallipoli landings during the invasion of the Dardanelles, which was basically a massive waste of lives for no reason.

There are no war heroes.
You have the dead, the soldiers that did their job and tried to survive by all means, the civilians that tried to survive by all means and the war leaders behind their desk that decide who die and who not.
