I have kind of a serious question, FJ... If I am white and live in a country that didn't took part in colonialism or the Atlantic slave trade, never had a black culture or black community or any kind of history with blacks... Am I allowed to use the word ****** without assuming I mean it in a derogatory way but because of hip hop music?

Nah, it's a word with enough history that no one should ever use it in good taste, just in the same sense cracker (used to describe the cracking if whips) should also not be used. It's just not tasteful when you realize the ridiculous collective ********** these words have dragged across history, and trust me if these stars went through an ounce of what their ancestors went through they would be in no rush to use the word ' ****** ' anytime soon.

no, you say *****... because culture has shaped this word to mean something other than ******... which, if you're gonna use the 'a' vs 'er' argument, the same can be said for cracker or cracka

I was born and raised in America, but culturally I'm 100% Russian and my whole family is from Russia/Ukraine. The Slavs were sometimes enslaved historically so I'm kinda in the same boat as black people, therefore I don't think I should be classed in with the WASPS who were involved with slavery.

I mean I frankly think that it doesn't matter as long as you're not being a dick about it. If you're joking around or quoting songs then who cares?

Everyone no matter skin color or location is alowed to say ******. If people start saying only a select few ''races'' can say it they will end up begin the ones acting racist.

Everyone is allowed to use the word ******. The only way to make it a better word is for people to use it more often. If a word becomes over used, it looses its power, and can't seriously hurt people anymore. Just look at the word faggot. Its thrown around so much and used on so many people that aren't gay that it barely even applies to gays anymore, and any gay person who's called a faggot can just brush it off like nothing.

So go ahead man. Call as many people ****** as you want, you stupid ******.

You can say ****** as long as we can call you something as equally ****** up, kike.

It doesn't work that way at all. The word had always had a negative meaning no matter what way it is used. Also just because people say faggot often does not mean it is not offensive. I have seen many cases where gay people become offended after hearing it.

"Offense is taken, not given"

People need to grow a skin, it's just words.

Personally I think it's fine, but most people will think you're racist. Sorry. :/
