Worth it, imo. FO3 and NV are both a hundred times more fun with the right mods. Just stay the **** away from graphics enhancing mods, they **** **** up.

STEAM SALE (Mostly see trading cards.)
User avatar #19 to #16 - olliemereside (07/14/2013) [-]
What is the purpose of the trading cards?
User avatar #73 to #19 - Nihatclodra (07/15/2013) [-]
You use them to craft badges. Crafting badges raise your steam level (you get special permissions the higher your level), and you can sell the cards for real money. If you craft a badge, you get a few things with it: Smilies for the chat, Steam Profile Backgrounds, and coupons to buy discounted games; all of which can also be sold for real money.
#21 to #19 - felixjarl (07/14/2013) [-]
As far as i know there are currently a few things you can use them for: craft badges for steam lvls, or sell them on the steam market to earn some small cash.

Even so it is being released so many cards that something of game might be released. Only the future will tell.
User avatar #23 to #21 - olliemereside (07/14/2013) [-]
Thanks for clearing that up. They seem pretty pointless?
User avatar #44 to #23 - zaach (07/14/2013) [-]
Just as pointless as the itemboard on FJ, but people enjoy it and it makes people buy more games, so why the hell not? It has given me motivation to replay some old games which now have cards, and play some of the games that i otherwise dont play that has been bought in bundles or under the influence of the steam curse.
#24 to #23 - felixjarl (07/14/2013) [-]
''they seem pretty pointless?'' Why the ?

All i know is that they have been the new **** all over the tf2 trading servers. Spamming like hell.

All it really does is just show that you have money to waste
The only perks you get is an extra 5 friends to add every now and then along with a showcase every 10 levels (Show off screenshots, achievements and items you collected)

Overall if you want just a background which most of them suck anyway you are better off paying 3-30 cents and buying it off someone instead of collecting an entire set of cards which usually can cost about 2-3 dollars a set

I now own fallout 3 and I've never been happier.
User avatar #93 to #75 - lolwatthe (07/15/2013) [-]
I bought the GOTY edition because I hadn't played three of the five DLC's, I shall have fun some time when I have gotten rid of the stack of other games to play.
User avatar #102 to #75 - godhatesusall (07/15/2013) [-]
I own both GOTY Fallout 3 and Ultimate Edition Fallout: New Vegas.

Best investment I've ever made.
User avatar #131 to #102 - Waldowitharedhat (07/15/2013) [-]
I just bought the regular Fallout 3 and regular Fallout: New Vegas, then pirated the DLC's.
User avatar #130 to #102 - linktheherooftime (07/15/2013) [-]
I currently only have enough for one of them. So which should I get?
User avatar #132 to #130 - godhatesusall (07/15/2013) [-]
Depends. What do you look forward to buying a fallout game for? Like what interests you about Fallout?
User avatar #133 to #132 - linktheherooftime (07/15/2013) [-]
To be completely honest. I don't know. The only game by Bethesda I own is Skyrim. I also hear a lot of good things about Fallout. But when it comes to picking between the two. I'm at a loss.
User avatar #137 to #133 - godhatesusall (07/15/2013) [-]
Also, Fallout 3 takes place in Washington DC, while New Vegas takes place in (guess) Las Vegas, so if the location and vibe of the game matters to you, you could take those into account.
User avatar #136 to #133 - godhatesusall (07/15/2013) [-]
Well, basically, Fallout 3 has a more defined story, most characters are linked to quests, and the environment is more post-apocalyptic, but sorta small. New Vegas is less defined, but you have more choices of whose side you're on and stuff, the world is more open but also kinda empty, and there are some additional things that aren't in Fallout 3 (weapon modding, special ammo, factions, etc.) The DLCs are equally enjoyable for both games in most respects (except Broken Steel for Fallout 3, which allows you to keep playing after you beat the game).
User avatar #225 to #102 - srskate (07/15/2013) [-]
now I can't play fallout 3 because of the new game crash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This picture amuses me.....but it also confuses me.
Could someone explain it or inform me of the source.?
User avatar #223 to #218 - ubermasterfaggot (07/15/2013) [-]
This source be here: You need to login to view this link
But by explanation of what is going on in said picture, I haven't much of an educated clue.
The only thing that I have gathered is that Wilson, our bearded badass here in this picture, is not exactly known to be of the brawny type. The exact opposite, using his wits and intelligence to help him survive in Maxwell's (our dapper baddy here getting punched in the face) little messed up wild world.
So in the game, you must chop down trees and break apart rocks while trying to sate hunger, maintain sanity, and make sure your health doesn't drop to zilch by the vile creatures of Maxwell's bidding of a sort.
So what if Wilson becomes a beefy stud-muffin doing all of these feats of great strength, stamina and durability to an extensive degree? He becomes a tank built by hardship and life-or-death scenarios.
User avatar #224 to #223 - ubermasterfaggot (07/15/2013) [-]
Or you could just click the link and get a shorter explanation. Whatever fits your needs.

Well, sorry man but I don't know what to say. I've never been taxed a lick from Steam.
Are you using Steam? Or do you get PC downloads from sites like Amazon?

I've always used steam. I can't be the only one who's been taxed. I've only downloaded one game from amazon and that was to save cash.

I have it. If you are an 80's kid and remember the golden age of rpg's then you will love it. It has its flaws and can become difficult at times but is definitely worth the play.

It's a fun game to play. If you get really absorbed into the game and take your time, it's really enjoyable. The combat and puzzle solving keep the game entertaining.
#70 to #42 - whowantscake (07/15/2013) [-]
I have it and have beaten it. Its pretty good. It's not the best game ever, but for how cheap you can get it, it's worth the money. And as others said, finding the secrets can be a lot of fun. There's also a ton of levels in the steam workshop from other players, so you can play beyond the main story. At 75% of, i would recommend it.
