In Michigan, it's the Secretary of State.

Same line, though.

Depends on which ones. The more ghetto areas tend to have less people driving long ways to them, so they have only an hour long wait instead of an 8 hour wait.

Also, protip. If you're needing to pay a ticket at the Precinct 4 Courthouse in Spring, go at like, 4:30, because nobody's ever there since it's about to close.

They built a new DPS here in Spring, and it's very large and it only took me an hour and a half to do everything.

Awwww yeah. Me and my parents just moved to the Woodlands, so we need to update our licenses. I came back from California hearing that they built the new DPS and it's really helped out.

The DMV by me is actually really good. Lines move fast and the people that work there are pleasant. They even have a guy name Kahleef who wears awesome hats.

My first time at the DMV I spent an hour and a half in line only to get told that they "only accept birth certificates, no certificates of birth"

Michigan has Secretary of State offices. The one's nearest to me are never really that bad.

I'm lucky enough to have my old bus driver working at the one near where I live, and the service is usually pretty good, along with nice people. Also, we have chairs.

I don't understand why the DMV isn't open in weekends, it's like they're trying their hardest to be difficult.

We have a ticket system, categorized by type of transaction/request. Those with simple requests are generally called to a desk earlier than others, as 8 desks take on 4 letter-categorized requests, and call each customer over the electronic system, which says, for example, "Ticket number, A23. Please proceed to counter 6"

The longest wait we have ever experienced there was ten minutes, and that was directly after an armed hold-up.

Australia. **** yeah.
