Well a dog has two cones as opposed to human's three, so they don't see everything in black and white. They would would actually see roses as a somewhat dull yellow colour and see violets as a greyish-blue.

This is actually very accurate. Dogs see in 2 primary colors: blue and yellow. They cannot make the distinction between green and red.

I don't know where you live, but in a lot of places red lights are square and green lights round (while amber is a diamond), so that the colour blind know what the light is.
