Those look like as soon as you take a bite the entire thing would just turn to powder

What the **** is up with people thinking gluten free is so healthy all of a sudden? Unless you have diagnosed celiac disease or if you plan on never eating gluten again then choosing a gluten free food is actually worse for you because you need gluten and they can be full of substitutes and artificial stuff.
User avatar #62 to #39 - justbeingcool (07/12/2013) [-]
i have coeliac and the food suck why would people want to eat it
User avatar #46 to #39 - davvi (07/12/2013) [-]
wait. do people who aren't diagnosed coeliacs actually eat gluten-free on purpose?
User avatar #52 to #46 - impaledsandwich (07/12/2013) [-]
All the time. It's disgusting.
User avatar #55 to #52 - sketchysketchist (07/12/2013) [-]
What do you expect?
We live in a world full of stupid people who think all their health problems will disappear the moment they give up one thing that's hurting one specific group of people.
User avatar #56 to #55 - impaledsandwich (07/12/2013) [-]
I know, I hate it. All they're doing is desecrating perfectly good bread. It's blasphemous and heretical.
User avatar #58 to #56 - sketchysketchist (07/12/2013) [-]
Well they're choosing to eat awful food.
So **** em.
In the meantime lets enjoy ourselves all the gluten loaded breads and pastries a man(or lady if you are a lady) can handle.
User avatar #59 to #58 - impaledsandwich (07/12/2013) [-]
You better believe it. This man (or lady, if I am a lady) is going to eat the **** out of them quality baked goods.

Still, I can't help but cringe on seeing gluten-free anything.
User avatar #60 to #59 - sketchysketchist (07/12/2013) [-]
I haven't seen any in person(I be livin' in da ghetto, we ain't got time fo that yo) but the images all look awful.
Even when they try to make it look like food porn.
It's like having a fat saggy granny with herpes taking all the roles in your favorite porn, just not appealing and you'd rather go out and get some exercise instead.
Though, that might be how gluten-free can be seen as healthy.
User avatar #61 to #60 - impaledsandwich (07/12/2013) [-]
I'm surrounded by rich kids (not just kids with money, but beyond that) and rich people in general, and so many of them are hipsters who go gluten-free. I can tell you from first-hand experience that it tastes and feels like **** . You'd be better off making bread from your lawn than that douchenozzle stuff.
User avatar #65 to #61 - sketchysketchist (07/13/2013) [-]
Don't blame the ingredients dude, blame the ******** making it because of some stupid fad that makes no sense.
User avatar #66 to #65 - impaledsandwich (07/13/2013) [-]
They're hipster ******* who will probably turn their position right around as soon as some study implies gluten-free stuff might be detrimental.
User avatar #67 to #66 - sketchysketchist (07/13/2013) [-]
Yeah, no one likes hipsters.
Especially not rich ones.
User avatar #68 to #67 - impaledsandwich (07/13/2013) [-]
Moments ago I found out that Cocoa Pebbles are gluten-free. I didn't even know rice could have gluten.
User avatar #69 to #68 - sketchysketchist (07/13/2013) [-]
...But they're so damn good.
How in the hell.....

Well rice is a grain.
I think gluten is a naturally occurring nutrient or mineral that is good for you when eaten right.
Then some dumbass made it look bad, like fat in milk and other food, or sugar in sweet snacks and everything.
User avatar #70 to #69 - impaledsandwich (07/13/2013) [-]
Gluten, as my dad explained it to me (who makes bread all the time), is generated by kneading dough and is what gives bread its texture. Too much and you get a tough, chewy monstrosity, but too little and your bread falls apart. Some people can't eat it, and that's fine, but the majority of people can without any problems. ******* people.
User avatar #71 to #70 - sketchysketchist (07/13/2013) [-]
It sounds delicious.
******* people.

I work at a restaurant and it angers me how many people order gluten free.

I work in a bakery known for their bread and people come in asking for gluten free....

No, I brainstorm content ideas with a team of 3 other people, and then create it pixel by pixel with a pencil in paint like everyone else here on FJ.

Most cookies I encounter are not on the internet and I can't eat them because they aren't gluten free. Internet cookies aren't the only cookies.

At work, I once accidentally gave some one a with a gluten allergy a meal with gluten in it, I thought I killed them, turns out I just made the **** a lot...or something.

There is Gluten intolerance (which is what you are referring to) and Gluten Allergy.

My Aunt is severely allergic to Gluten, she eats it, she'll die. She has to use special toothpaste even, since toothpaste has wheat in it.
User avatar #2 to #1 - lolwatthe (07/12/2013) [-]
It irritates the bowels so yeah, but if you continually gave them gluten then they could possibly die of malnutrition.
User avatar #4 to #2 - KayRed ONLINE (07/12/2013) [-]
Good thing it was a one time thing.

I do have people with a gluten allergy come in and order stuff that is not gluten free, I guess our food is worth the ***** .
User avatar #5 to #4 - lolwatthe (07/12/2013) [-]
Yeah I know about it because I have it and I do have to say some poutine and other things are worth the ***** , since they don't have a base of wheat I might get off easier than if I ate something like a bun.
User avatar #3 to #2 - lolwatthe (07/12/2013) [-]
Also I can make better gluten free cookies than the person in the picture, I bet they used one of those over priced gluten free flour mixes...

At outback, we have gluten free brownies that are the **** .
User avatar #13 to #6 - lotengo (07/12/2013) [-]
most gluten free foood tastes like **** .

If u never had it u cant imagine how dry gluten free bread is.
User avatar #16 to #13 - KayRed ONLINE (07/12/2013) [-]
That's a huge generalization, because ALOT of foods are gluten fee.
User avatar #17 to #16 - lotengo (07/12/2013) [-]
I dont mean all Glutenfree food.

Steak and ice cream are gluten free and are juicy. But there is no way u can compare regular bread with glutenfree bread.
User avatar #19 to #17 - dildoes (07/12/2013) [-]
You've obviously never had good gluten free bread, because it certainly exists.

My mom makes Gluten free chocolate carrot cake and various other goodies since she has it too, I think I'm alright on the baked goods section.
