It's sad calling something like that a "lifebook".
#16 to #10 - Rascal (07/12/2013) [-]
True dat.

"Nolifebook" would be more appropiate.

"low chances of injury as the keyboard is not mechanical"
wait what? How the hell do you get injured by a mechanical keyboard?

And honestly, this sounds like one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard. here's some reasons why:
1: touch based keyboard on a laptop. Hell no. touch based keyboards are only "good" when used on a completely touch based device, and is a hassle to use for anything else.
2: Should the tablet, or the pin connector, break, you're left without a keyboard on the laptop.
3: compromises. to be able to include enough space in the laptop for three other devices, you have to have a lot of empty space. To have empty space, you either need to sacrifice performance or make it bigger and bulkier. Looking at the product itself, it looks like they didn't make it bigger, but sacrificed performance instead.

Basically, that thing would be useless to me, and most of the people I know.

It may draw processing power from the tablet also.
#54 to #44 - alexanderh (07/12/2013) [-]
While that's true, it will not be able to reach the same per-thread performance, because they sacrificed performance. It might be able to handle more threads effectively, but each thread will be run slower.
In short, this might be useful for office work and stuff like that, but anything resembling gaming (or even programming) will be a horrible experience on this device.
User avatar #56 to #54 - crazyhindu (07/12/2013) [-]
I see it more for artists and business people, over gamers. it looks like its made for pure productivity.
#57 to #56 - alexanderh (07/12/2013) [-]
While that's true, I'd still rather use a regular laptop over one of these things, even for artistic or "business" stuff. It seems like it'd work better.
User avatar #58 to #57 - crazyhindu (07/12/2013) [-]
oh yeah anyday, but the concept is cool.
#59 to #58 - alexanderh (07/12/2013) [-]
Cool idea, poor execution. mainly because of the need to compromise too much.
User avatar #60 to #59 - crazyhindu (07/12/2013) [-]
Yeah I see your point, but this is actually a incredibly genius way to make money, its just like any apple product, marketed to morons who think they are cool because they have all their expensive **** in one, and don't care about efficiency. Then again the processing power could be just the same, except much smaller, I mean have you noticed how much smaller **** is getting lately? Open up any brand new smart phone, those motherboards are tiny but fast as **** .
#61 to #60 - alexanderh (07/12/2013) [-]
I see it from a business perspective, and yes, it seems to be marketed at those people.

About the processing power: Yes, I know how powerful current gen tablets and phones are, I own a medium-high end android tablet, and it is pretty good. The problem with using a tablet and smart phone to aid in processing is that doing tandem processing always has at least minor problems, but more often than not, especially in windows, it ***** up somehow. Especially with CPUs. And I doubt the RAM would work very well due to the increased latency. GPUs work fairly well, but again, the latency might be a problem here.
User avatar #62 to #61 - crazyhindu (07/12/2013) [-]
I see what you mean, But this does open up to newer and better versions, hopefully in the near future it can act as one whole system flawlessly.
#63 to #62 - alexanderh (07/12/2013) [-]
I might be a little interested by then. I doubt it, but it could happen.

Imagine if they perfected this technology.

CES 2013 The tablet that turns itself lumpy
#55 to #48 - alexanderh (07/12/2013) [-]
That just might work, when the tech is more refined.
#31 - marlkarxthethird (07/12/2013) [-]
Oh, neat, so you can drop the whole thing once and break ALL of your electronics at the same time!

It's a technological marvel!

User avatar #8 - Lookingguy (07/11/2013) [-]
why the hell would you buy 2k worth of **** to use one ****** laptop when u can bulid your own godam computer for less than that
User avatar #36 - rhc ONLINE (07/12/2013) [-]
**** off with that touchscreen keyboard. what's the point?
User avatar #27 - lockstin (07/12/2013) [-]
what would really make it awesome is if it also had a desktop component so that when your at your desk your computer has even more power, possibly for high-graphic gaming.
User avatar #34 - qwarthos (07/12/2013) [-]

Too bad fujitsu is awful (school forces us to buy from them for our engineering program, they have problems all the time and they operate terribly, especially given how much they cost)

This is incredibly stupid considering how fast technology is progressing these days. When I want a new tablet, phone or camera, I have to hope Fujitsu of all people makes a new model that works with this laptop. If you really want an experience like this you're better off just buying a Windows 8 tablet and phone, the tablet would have a touch keyboard. Plus the new Lumia has a 41 megapixel camera that auto-uploads your photos to your Windows 8 account so they appear instantly on your tablet. Makes much more sense and would still probably cost less than this thing.
User avatar #40 to #33 - theawesomeguy (07/12/2013) [-]
too bad all those add up to cost about $37,541,950,604,436

Or you get a few USB cables
