Yeah man! I totally agree! I mean, how's he going to use his cell phone to call Roman number when he's Greek! I bet he doesn't even speak Roman! Whoever made this should be ashamed

**** off. the movie got it wrong, and so do most people; hercules is the roman version of heracles, whom this movie is actually about.

You should learn to use commas. It took me way to long to understand what you were saying.

that is correct but that would mean that the movie messed up, because the greek god Hades is in the movie but Hercules is roman, the roman version of hades would've been pluto

but then by extension, Zues, Hades, Hera, etc.are all Greek gods...
Jupiter, Mars, Neptune, etc. are all Roman Gods

so the movie kind of mixes them..... i think its cause people recognize hercules more than heracles, and zues more than jupiter..... it's a kids movie, it doesn't have to be canon

Not that the movie, while awesome, doesn't have a variety of other Greek/Roman contradictions.

hercules is just the roman name not a person,like chris in england and christos in greece

Technically Hercules is just a Roman bastardization of the Greek name Heracles, so Hercules is Greek, but that version of his name is Roman

That's like saying I'm Mexican because people in Tijuana call me Jorge.

Every God in greek mythology has a Roman name as well.

Zeus=Jupiter
Athena=Minerva
Poseidon=Neptune

and so on.

Hercules is the Roman name for the Greek divine hero Heracles

Yeah, but Zeus is Hercules' father in the movie. If it had to be correct Hercules' father would have to be Jupiter. It's a screwup by disney, albeit not an important one.

It wasn't a screw up, they chose to use Hercules because more people know it.
