Anyone else hate the fact they never had a childhood friend that happened to be a girl?

I used to, when I was around 4. Then her family moved to England, and mine moved to Ireland. We friended one another on facebook last year, and we learned that we new absolutely nothing about each other and haven't spoken since then.

Thing is. I had two. One named Jasmin and one named Amanda. I can't for the life of me remember their last names, I wish I did. When I was a kid I lived on this Cree reserve called Moose Factory. Before entering school I befriended the kids on the block. We all lived on this one street because our parents either worked for the hospital or the shipping warehouse. There was me, the whitest native on the reserve, Justin who was also white(and was mentally handicapped), Razere who was black, Amanda who was Half native like me, and Jasmin who was full-ish native. We all got along back then, before school. we were happy kids. But things kinda changed when we started school, well, mostly Jasmin. You see, us being vastly different to the rest of the kids on the reserve made us targets for bullying, it started on the first day when Razere was getting picked on by older kids on the bus. No one would stand up for him; except me. First day of school and I get into a fight with a 3rd grader(I was in kindergarden). I lost the fight, but I took out that ******* front tooth. That put almost ALL the school bullies on my ass for the next 5 years. Even Jasmin started herassing me and making fun of me. But Me, Razere, Justin, and Amanda all got closer, at least until 2nd grade were Razere moved away because his father got a better paying job at another hospital in Ontario. That left me, justin, and Amanda. After a while I stopped getting riled up whenever the bullies would come at me. I would only fight back whenever they threw the first punch. that's when they started after Justin and Amanda. Of course I stood up for my friends. This caused me and Amanda to get closer, In 3rd grade me and Amanda actually kissed in her backyard. But it seemed it wasn't it wasn't meant to be, her mother got a Job in BC and they moved away, it's still kinda heart wrenching. I became so pathetic after that I was basically a human punching bag. I only stood up when they picked on justin. sad times.

One more thing. The ****** up thing was, Amanda never Liked me liked me. We only had that one kiss as a spur of the moment type thing. She actually liked a friend of ours that we made in 2nd grade. She never managed to confess to him. I told him that she liked him, he had the tipical young boy reaction of 'ew gross' but after that he said she never told him anything.

Let me just tell you one thing, it's not like what it's portrayed as in anime. If you grow up as friends, you don't move beyond that. Well, I can't speak for the cases where the girl is the one that develops a crush on the guy, but that's at least the case the other way around.
I had this girl I practically grew up with, her parents were friends with my parents and what not and they lived just down the street. Had a crush on her since the age of three; tried to be as alpha and romantic as a kid can be, kept this up for years, closest I came to hooking up with her was two kisses on the cheek, once in first grade, once in third grade. Come age 16, get the line "I'm sorry, I just can't think of you as anything other than a friend."

Childhood friends of the opposite gender are overrated, you do not wish you had one.

I sometimes wish I didn't have one. Back when I was little and could still make friends my best friend was a girl. Throughout all of Elementary school I had a crush on her. She went to a different middle school, and when I saw her in high school she was a slutty swag fag.

Jokes on you, i grew up in a small village in Japan with a female childhood friend that I spent age 7-9 with, and came to America and came back to her 10 years later in 2009. When I came back, she had grown into a beutiful girl. ( our family knows each other since we're neighbors). I came back to the village and gave her a hug, she blushed. Then I spent the next 2 weeks of that vacation inside my house being a loner, then went back to America...

We never promised to marry each other but our parents did always joke and say we would end up marrying each other (I'm 22 now, never happened) -.-, and with the huge cultural differences in the countries, being Americanized and all, I could never love a Foreigner the same way, its hard to communicate with someone who doesnt speak English.

Tl;dr just because you have a hot female childhood friend doesnt mean anything

Obviously a government ploy in an attempt to shut down 9gag. Make them try to grow up via an emotionally charged comic.

Foolish officials never stood a chance. TFW.
