Reading on an illuminated screen in the middle of the night is like pouring lava into your eye sockets. Also E-readers are more prone to breaking. Then you have no books to read.

modern =/= good

Seriously, reading on an E-reader takes away so much of the fun of reading. One of the worst inventions of our time, IMO and I sincerely hope that those don´t catch on. I mean, while I don´t mind if some people who like them have them, but as soon as there are less actual books because of E-readers, it would be a sad development. I´d pity the generations who´d have to grow up without actual, printed literature.

Yaah E-readers are evil.

Is not like you save paper and billions of trees by not having paper printed copies.

And is not like its more practical than books, I mean, Why wouldn't you want to carry your whole library with you at any time to see what you want to read?

The only real downside is that the electronic display is not as healthy as plain printed paper, but the ones that use electronic ink are almost the same.

>what is re-used paper?

But seriously, I said that not everyone would understand. For me, a e-reader will never be ableto give me as much fun and enjoyment as a real book would, for you? Why would I care what you do?

Please, recycled paper? not even close at ho much paper ereaders are saving.

Do you intend to tell me you actually donate a book after you jsut read it to be recicled and used to print another one? waste of resourses.

I really don't see how reading on a screen (a convenient, not bright or tiring colours) is that much different from reading a book other than turning the pages manually.
I read a ton an an e-reader is way more convenient, not only that but if you enjoy comic/manga too it also saves you a lot of effort and money.

And again. Not anyone will understand. It´s just another quality of enjoyment. A E-reader doesn´t feel as good as a book does. I´ve been reading hundreds and hundreds of books, since my earliest childhood. Hell, maybe even in the thousends. And I just find that reading on an E-book gives a whole different, less real and less nice feeling than reading an actual book, turning the pages, smelling the paper...

I perfer E-readers. Not tablets, but like NOok stimple touch that uses E-ink. I don't like real books all that much. I have read more books since i got my E-reader then I have in my entire life. I don't see much a difference then in the saving of trees, and weight to carry. I perfer my E-reader because I have had a broken neck, and reading a 800 page book causes my neck to hurt if i read more then10 minutes worth or i have to lay it down somehwere and be uncomfortable. Though could you tell me the difference when the story is exactly the same?

Well, as I said, I don´t have a problem if some like it, I just don´t want the amount of books printed to suffer.

I can´t even describe why I prefer books. It´s more of a feeling than something logical. An actual books feels more real. I guess you don´t really know that feeling if you haven´t read too much before getting an E-reader, but for me, personally, the feeling of turing the pages of a book, opening a new book, hell, even the smell of books, no matter if new or old, are some of the most lovely sensations there are.
Same with going to the bookstore. You stand in a room and all the walls are filled with books. A whole room. If you´d compress this into a storage card of a E-reader just doesn´t do justive to the stories, their authors and literature as a whole. Stories, History, Dreams, Books are just something that shouldn´t be crammed into some electical device. It makes them seem liveless and unreal. The weight and feeling of a real book, tho, is one of the most real sensations around, at least for me.

Or I might just be a freak with a bookfetish, no idea. I really just can´t explain how much more fun an actual book is, or why it is so, to me. Sorry.

I have both.
I got an e-reader for 5 reasons.
1)Sometimes, its more practical for me to have a 0.5 pound device than the entire GOT series. Or whatever series I am reading at that moment
2)My asshole stepfather made me get rid of 3/4ths of my book collection. An e-reader keeps that nonsense from happening again
3)Books on a Kindle are far cheaper than a normal paperback or hardcover. I've gotten my money back on the 80$ I spent on my Kindle in the money I've saved on books.
4)Its more convenient to buy books on a Kindle. I read more now that I can get a book and forgo the 10 mile drive to the book store and the 10 mile drive back.
5) Its easier to hide erotic novels on an e-reader
