Actually, given the average speed of the cars, and the actual estimated length of time the sequence takes, the runway is about 18.3 miles long (approximately 5 times longer than the longest runway in the world)
User avatar #23 to #10 - faithrider (07/07/2013) [-]
this is actually pretty cool but what if they were slowing it down so that we could see all of the parts of the scene?
User avatar #48 to #23 - eddymolly (07/07/2013) [-]
Thats taken into account. The scene lasts about 13 minutes, but as some bits happen at the same time as others, etc, its about 9 minutes worth of action.

it's a joke, but thanks for the information

Longest runway in the world is actually around 7 and a bit miles. Which is at Edwards air force base. the runway in the movie was a military runway so it is a little better but still ridiculous...
User avatar #49 to #25 - eddymolly (07/07/2013) [-]
Ahh, so it is, I didn't look at military runways, I wasn't really doing any of this that deeply

Want to know an interesting fact? vin diesiel wanted this series to have an rpg element to it cause he plays d&d. He goes on to explain how if yo upay attention in the movies you an see all the rpg elements in it, does the same thing with Riddick
User avatar #53 to #47 - makomirocket (07/07/2013) [-]
please elaborate

this isnt the main link I saw, it was awhile ago but it should lead to the same thing or something similar..

You need to login to view this link . wired . com/geekdad/2010/11/vin-diesel-reveals-his-rpg-roots/

I knew about the d&d just under a decade ago, Im talking about the rpg elements in F&F
User avatar #56 to #55 - ignusblanchh (07/07/2013) [-]
I'm guessing I should find the actual link, give me a minute
User avatar #38 - slapchoppin (07/07/2013) [-]
the best part of the movie is that scene where the Rocks head is 3 times the size of Vin Diesels head

Fast and Furious was set in Britain!?!? That must've been the most boring movie ever. Just people driving slowly on the motorway, fast in villages and knocking over drunken chavs.

why is this getting thumbed down. This is a perfectly accurate description.

because my friends downvoted it and I guess everyone else just jumped on the bandwagon. OR it could be a problem from me. PFFT it must be the first reason.

If you've actually seen the movie it was pretty ******* cool
#19 to #18 - osanilevich (07/07/2013) [-]
in all honesty, it gets boring and repetitive after a while, they've long outlived the plot's usefulness and its story-line is approaching soap-opera length. The only reason I will be going to see the next one is because of Jason Statham
User avatar #20 to #19 - pooplol (07/07/2013) [-]
im fine with that. As long as they keep the awesome as **** cars then im good

Actually, the world's longest airstrip in China is longer than the one in Fast and Furious 6.

The longest airstrip is a few miles long. The fast 6 airstrip is about 27 miles
#16 to #6 - jonlajoieismylife (07/07/2013) [-]
How did you calculate that it's exactly 27 miles?
#21 to #16 - anon (07/07/2013) [-]
with math, dumbass.
#63 to #21 - jonlajoieismylife (07/08/2013) [-]
You don't ******* say? I was wondering the actual math behind it asshole. What theseventhalias posted was perfect.
