I like being the "does 99% of the work" guy. I don't trust people enough to let them do something that my grade depends on. This ****** somethimes my only chance for a decent grade in some classes.

I'm the same way, it's really great when my best friend and I get pared up because she is the same way so we split it fifty fifty and it doesn't bug me because I trust her. Oh and she has a knack for getting the other group members to actually do their god damn work through a mix of threats on their lives and and incessant nagging. I don't mind her nagging because I'm never on the receiving end of it.

Depending on the subject/project, I was either the 99% person for the same reasons you mentioned, or the one who said they would help but don't. Being the 99% person allows you to see other 99% people and if I wasn't really sure about what to do or didn't really understand the subject then I knew I'd be more of a hindrance than a help. I'd really just talk about the subject to try and better understand it, and help if asked by the 99% person.
