I still don't understand why they shipped the bad dudes them OFF the planet when it was going to die in a few weeks.

Because the counsel didn't believe Jor-El when he said Krypton was going to implode.

I thought they already acknowledge that the core would implode when they said "what other choice did we have?"

Also, Krypton exploded in the end and that annoyed me a lot more than it should have.

Ya, I noticed that too, but figured "I'm watching a movie about an alien baby that travels hundreds of light years across the galaxy and becomes a god due to a "younger sun" and "More nourishing atmosphere". I guess I can let that slide."
What got me was how Supes dispatched Zod.

If Zod moved his eyes to the right he could have killed the family. He didn't need to move his whole head, but he keeps staring ahead...

Didn't the capsule do some warp in space/time? There's also the fact that he decided to bring the fight with Zod back into New York, where all the people are. Any unpopulated area in the whole world, and you bring the fight back to New York?

Just like every other alien invasion

It's called Suicide By Cop. Everything Zod did was to resurrect/protect Krypton. Kal made that impossible so Zod forced Supes to kill him.

That might be because Zod at that point wanted to destroy everything Superman lived for. He didn't wish to fight Superman directly, but to kill the people of Earth. If SUperman had flown out to a dessert, Zod would've destroyed the city anyway.
It's not like Iron Man 2, where Tony Stark gets ambushed by the Iron Man robots, at which point he says "Let's move this away from people" and then starts flying round and round where there is the maximum number of people.

I thought that the capsule triggered the Phantom drive, and sent them back to the Phantom zone., but I only watched it once, and my wife was talking the entire time.

Lois was standing on the edge of the unloading bay whilst the plane is flying, doesn't fall off. I wish she went to the Phantom Zone with everyone else.

Exactly. You know Zod is looking for a fight, and you take him on downtown? WHat, was the desert too far to fly?
If Supes was strong enough to do what he did, couldn't he just force him to look to the left or turn him around? I mean, anything but what they did. Unless they are setting up some sort of Injustice type movie line, I can't see how that was right.

I reckon the did that because they thought Superman needed something to force him to kill Zod.

I watch Olympus Has Fallen yesterday, and that is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. So stupid that its managed to make everything else I've seen recently seem so much better.

That said, I'm a sucker for special effects, and explosions, so I enjoyed the movie. Faora was hot and her combos were sick.

I did as well. The Kryptonian Martial art was pretty bad ass.

Because the plot needed them to survive. And since MoS is a crap movie, the plot doesn't want to have any kind of logic in it.
