A common misconception; ketchup does not grow on trees, rather it is a root vegetable. It's remarkable how the process goes, as it takes up to 8 months to form the glass or plastic "bottle". The glass ketchup grows better in colder climates, with a hard shell for extra protection from harsh weather, and plastic ketchups tend to grow better in warmer climates, as the added protection is not needed.
