The origins of that word come from the English upper class. You know the ones that Americans try to disassociate themselves from. So does most of England, which is why I never get why Americans use it seeing as your entire culture is based on doing the opposite of us

22 men running around on the grass wearing revealing clothing, chasing balls. After 90 minutes of this, they all hug and congratulate eachother in a brotherly fashion, rubbing their sweaty bodies all over eachother

How is that not gay? I'm bi myself, and even I think soccer is a bit too gay
User avatar #102 to #81 - shoshayyy (07/02/2013) [-]
so by your logic, rugby is 30 men running around on grass wearing "revealing clothing", chasing balls. For 80 minutes they all just try to grab each other and lay down together?

Rugby must be gay too then right?

You do understand that I'm trying to make a joke right? Anyways, most team sports are pretty gay anyways...

Something tells me you're not good at sports

Nah I can play, no problem. I just don't do it as a hobby, or watch the **** on tv. I can play with friends, but the whole competitive thing is just retarded in my opinion. Keyword "opinion" there btw.
User avatar #115 to #112 - nooneofinterest (07/02/2013) [-]
I think competitiveness is fine but once it gets past a certain point you're right, it starts getting pointless

Tournaments can be fine, but the whole "I bought some dude from Spain for a quarter billion pounds"-attitude to sports is something I hate.

Yeah I hope the government implement a charity tax on **** like that take the money away and use it to help other people

Yeah, and that the value of the player would be given to the public once they retire. At least a percentage. We have come to a point where we agree on something. Let's stop here. Sorry for bashing your sport. Cya

If you could keep your opinions based in reality, maybe I could take you seriously
User avatar #95 to #88 - vexaton ONLINE (07/02/2013) [-]
Based in reality? How is that not how it is? All of that happens! Short shorts are pretty revealing if you ask me... They do chase balls... The games are 90 minutes long... They hug and congratulate by jumping eachother and hugging...

I do not see your logic? I can understand that you like football, and that you don't want your heterosexuality to be broken down by us saying your sport is gay, but seriously, it is a pretty 'fabulous' sport.

Thanks for the red thumb btw
User avatar #106 to #95 - nooneofinterest (07/02/2013) [-]
You must be watching footage from the 80's because the shorts aren't that revealing.
They don't chase a ball you uncultured bitchtit.
They hug and congratulate each other only when a major match has been won. And any physical contact between men is classed as gay in your eyes?
Break my heterosexuality down? I don't really give a **** , but my point is that a sport cant have a sexual preference. The diving and general weakness is more or less a European phenomenon that's why outside the premier league you hardly see it because not many European players join lower leagues. **** you
