If you go back in time to change something, shouldn't you already know whether or not it worked?
Or are we going on TimeLord rules where Time can be rewritten, meaning you would not have declared that you were going back to change those things

Time travel is all kinds of messed up. I'm not all that familiar with Doctor Who, but I think you're talking about the grandfather paradox.

Nah the doctor who theory is that Time CAN be rewritten, or unwritten. Like if you go back in time and kill yourself, you would never exist. If you went back in time and tried to become your own grandfather then your father never would have had you to begin with. IDK I havent seen that discussed explicitly, just speaking my thoughts

That bit you said about your dad is what I meant. Rewriting history, whatever, but making it so you weren't born is the grandfather paradox. If you weren't born, you couldn't go back and make it so you weren't born, so you will be born, which means you do go back in time, which means you keep yourself from being born, which means you aren't born, and it just goes in circles.

haha like i said I dont know exactly how it works, I know what the grandfather paradox is but I dont know what would happen in that situation
