Conserning the speed of the sunrise on Mercury:
[Mean radius 2,439.7 km][2][pi] / [Sidereal rotation period 1407.5 h] = 10.89 kph = 3.03 m/s = 9.925 ft/s = 6.767 mph.

Sounds like the movie was sort of realistic.

Earth, on the other hand, following the same formula has a sunrise speed of:
1,672.49 kph = 464.58 m/s = 1524.2 ft/s = 1039.2 mph

Note: These equations are strictly equatorial, but for any other latitude, merely multiply by the cosine of the intended latitude.
