I love exploring abandoned places like these. I have only explored an abandoned school and an abandoned meat packaging plant. But both of those were super fun because usually they have been abandoned for a while and it feels like you are some explorer in a video game or something examining an ancient ruin to discover the purpose of that building (except you pretty much already know). But to explore places like the 2nd picture and pictures 5-10 would be so much fun. Especially if you don't know their original purpose.

I remember that I used to explore one of the abandoned building in the forest next to us... There was some old car and 2 story building... That **** was scary when you were 7 years old. I remember one time I found some photography album and it turned out to be some kind of summer cottage to someone. I also remember watching TV and there was story about drugs and that the building was used to deal drugs. But now it has been taken down.

went to an abandoned movie studio before it became torn down went from the highest to the lowest part of the building and at first the entrance to the steam room seamed like something from slender and then when i went 3 floors under that to some other room it seemed more like silent hill and after that i kinda panicked from anxiety of only hearing my heartbeat and when i finally got out i tripped on the last step to the entrance of the steam room ate **** and found a bottle of malt liqour right on the floor. oh and when i returned to my backpack and skateboard i had found my backpack was stolen and my skateboard tagged.

Oh, yes, it is. Depending on where you go, and depending if you are alone or brought some friends along (which I recommend), you will have a blast.

oh god if me and my friends did something like that we have to film it because of this movie (V/H/S) we would die from the fun

Yeah, take a couple friends with you and just have an adventure together. It's great fun depending where you go. Like I said, I have only been to an abandoned school and abandoned meat packaging plant, the school wasn't that great but the meat packaging plant was a 3-4 hour adventure from entry to exit with me and a buddy. The bigger and older the place you adventure into is, the more fun you will have. I have yet to explore a mine but I am really wanting to. Exploring and abandoned mine is more dangerous but I'm sure it would be loads of fun. Definitely find an abandoned mine near you and then check out it's current status on air quality and all that because most bigger mines require you to have a gas mask, otherwise you are gonna have a bad time.

I live in Donora, P.A lol theres plenty of abandoned **** down here. Back in the 40's or 50's the great smog disaster struck Donora and all the companies had to shut down, so there's just a bunch of old rotting building's and factories around
User avatar #119 to #117 - wutzittooya (06/30/2013) [-]
Oh, okay, Yeah you probably have more abandoned places near you than I do. I'm in Tucson, AZ so there isn't much here. Tons of mines, just haven't gotten the appropriate gear for it yet.

I love doing this **** in Wisconsin, there is a metric **** ton of abandoned saw mills, factories, and paper mills. You can make pretty good money going into these places, and grabbing valuable scrap metal. Problem is, these places are scary as **** , so I felt the overwhelming need to carry a firearm or my combat knife, when I went into these places, which made the experience all the better as I felt like a STALKER Fag.

User avatar #56 to #54 - wutzittooya (06/29/2013) [-]
Well, I am white, so that makes sense. But I'm not the white person that goes into places like that at night. "Oh, hey, it's ******* 11 at night, I might as well explore this totally not creepy castle here with only myself and a flashlight"

Bring a flash light and an old camera and fatal frame. (not horror just some cool stuff that happened for a while) I lived in a house in the middle of some woods for a while in Virginia the people who built it made it russian inspired so the bedrooms on the bottom, living room uptop but the reason i mentioned it was they also built a church beside it that got shut down because the woman who owned the road to the house wouldn't allow traffic back there. So i'm living in this house like 30 feet from an abandoned russian style church and the property is surrounded by trees and a thick layer of bamboo lines around the inside area i guess they thought it would look good. There was a trail made of black bricks behind the house about 200-300 feet that stopped at a creek id go think about stuff at. The first day there me and my nephews went exploring and found a part in the bamboo that lead to a circle clearing where a pile of small animal bones were scattered like a rabbit. my first thought was animal but then i wondered how an animal made a clearing in a circle like 10 feet around. There was also a half built water mill i guess he intended to put up a water wheel and the whole propery has been examined for civil war items they found a dagger and some bullets i saw bears, deers, big ass spiders like 6+inch leg spans inside my room, bob cats etc it was a pretty fun couple of years i wouldnt mind living there again except for during hurricane season when the trees would fall and even with surge protectors i lost a bunch of electronics.

I occasionally take trips down to mexico, and I tell ya in most areas it seems there are abandoned areas every where, random shacks by the side of the road, an entire town completely devoid of life, ect
