You dumb British **** . It shows you a sit ton of things like Parks, Hospitals, Airports, Churches, the only reason you see fast food is because there are so many in the area.

creates many negative stereotypes about itself
bitches whenever people refer to those stereotypes

Telephone: alexander graham bell, scotland
Television: Paul Gottlieb Nipkow, Germany
Radio: Guglielmo Marconi, italy
Computers, also germany

usa has made improved versions, yes, but non-americans made the first designs
User avatar #276 to #264 - goobdol (06/30/2013) [-]
People don't create stereotypes about themselves, that's ridiculous.
User avatar #277 to #276 - konradkurze (06/30/2013) [-]
to be precise
they created the negative points that others saw as stereotypes

when enough people in a country do certain stupid things, others will notice and refer to them by such
User avatar #278 to #277 - goobdol (06/30/2013) [-]
That sounds better. I feel like that could be applied to any nationality if the occasion calls for it though.
User avatar #282 to #278 - konradkurze (06/30/2013) [-]
then again for three main points:

one can argue that the size of the country in question creates more sterotypes....more people creates more groups of people that do common things

also argue that the severity of what the people do that causes china is a large country only a little smaller than usa.....while usa is known as evil for abusing other countries in war, china is known for abusing its own people in peace

and thirdly, stereotypes have to be accredited to peoples in the country.....for example, true americans arent known for crime, drugs, rape, shootings, and chicken...only the black people in usa are

You ********* don't seem to realise that a LOT of british humor is all about laughing at other countries. You should listen to how they laugh at german people on the show, and it's all normal
User avatar #304 to #229 - legodude (06/30/2013) [-]
Don't forget laughing at ourselves! check out 'ello 'ello we laugh at everyone, also the germans love it and it's about the war!
#315 to #304 - anonymous (06/30/2013) [-]
As said i get you. Americans simply don't seem to understand our shared humour.
User avatar #259 to #229 - centurionprime (06/29/2013) [-]
wait really?

that's kind of mean.
even if we had the same amount of humor that makes fun of other countries, proportionally, we're less inclined to make fun of other countries in general.
but I guess on the flip side, why joke when we have the power to just drop a few bombs and be like, who's laughin now punkass.
except for russia.
that's why we have so many russian jokes! we cant bully them!
we respect them too much!
#289 to #259 - anonymous (06/30/2013) [-]
We are kinda more used to mean jokes. I try to explain:
The French, Germans and Englishman for example have a long tradition of wars in every variation (Germany and France vs England, Germany and England vs France and of course France and England vs Germany).
Trough the times, they all somehow liked and hated each other at the same time. Their humour and (mostly) funny stereotypes derived as kind of ventile for those nations people.
Now remember that Europe is historically small patternd. You can go here like 20 kilometers in 4 different directions and you'll have 4 different languages, cultures, style of architecture etc). And everone fought the other at least once. So nearly every nation consists in itself of pretty strong subcultures, which are well tended.

**This may sound confusing to an american or australian, because they are much more homogene as a nation in terms of shared history. We mostly identify ourselves by our local culture, and less by our nations.

User avatar #307 to #289 - centurionprime (06/30/2013) [-]
that's cool.

Makes me wonder how russia is.
#309 to #307 - anonymous (06/30/2013) [-]
not really european, thats for sure. Russia is pretty ****** up and crazy at the same time.
