Depending on how you smoke it. Some people just take the smoke into their mouth, others will actually inhale it. Like whycanticaps said though, if you inhale it, inhaling smoke isn't exactly healthy.

just puffing tobacco wont damage your lungs, and you will get a slight buzz because of how close the blood vessels are to your gums.... but then again, it damages your gums and throat... so its really a trade-off

Burning anything oxidizes molecules, creating carcinogens. Studies have shown that even consistently eating burnt toast for breakfast (some people do, for some reason) is like letting cancer roundhouse kick you in the teeth every morning.
I may have paraphrased the results a little.

Tobacco plants act like a pesticide themselves since it contains more nicotine than most other plants which is known for it's wide use as a pesticide. Also tobacco plants have many other natural things in them which can be widely use in the medical fields and they have been used as so ever since the civil war era. This is because chewing some of the stronger varieties could cause numbness, which when you have massive wounds could definitely help to a great extent let alone what we could use it for with modern sciences. Lastly, while you are right it is dangerous the process is only enhanced when people decide to pt stronger elements which cause addictions at faster rates and chemicals to hold off some of the bigger pests since when processed it loses most of it's pesticide like agents. All in all you are right and wrong but leaning more towards the latter of the two.

Just contributing my opinion. To everybody saying how bad marijuana is, yeah I agree to an extent, though, there is no proof that it lowers your lung capacity and kills brain cells. Another thing, Marijuana does defiantly not burn hotter than tobacco smoke, have you ever smoked a joint and then 100% tobacco? The tobacco smoke is way more chronic than the weed smoke. I agree, people who can't have fun without weed are stupid and especially if they use it to run away from their problems. To the physiologically addictive part, its true but only if you're a dumb **** who can't control your placebo. Smoking marijuana at least once in your life is good because it opens up the possibility that everything you know is wrong and it makes you start to think about your life (which is why a lot of people don't smoke, because they're too pussy to handle the reality of their life) and also, Marijuana has a lot of spiritual properties to it. (inb4 you're a faggot) Why do you think we have been smoking it for thousands of years? It was used by the Egyptians, Tibetans, Aztecs (as well as mushrooms) and so on. Another example is Bob Marley, have you noticed how happy he was all the time and how he loved life and appreciated it so much? That was because he smoked it for the right reasons, not to just get "****** up." inb4 sea of red thumbs. Smoke one FunnyJunk

Marijuana use has been shown to cause heart attacks ("myocardial infarction" = "heart attack"), stroke, and other cardiovascular problems.

Also, individuals can develop a tolerance to the nuerological effects of long-term marijuana use, but not to the cardiovascular effects. Blood pressure keeps dropping while cardiac output keeps increasing.

Why I very much respect and completely agree with your opinion, the only reason I refuse to use Marijuana is that is in essence a mind altering drug (and I'm not saying it has adverse effects on your brain or that is it bad or harmful in anyway) I just do not like the idea of having my personality being altered by messing with the chemicals released in my nervous systems. This is the same reason why I refuse to drink alcohol.

However, your point about its spiritual affects is well taken, however I feel that it is much more important for us to reach our own spiritual fulfillment through conscious philosophical effort. I feel only in that way it is genuine. You may have a really enlightened way of thinking while using and they may even carry over to when you're sober but it is important to know that THC is an addictive substance that can cause reliance on the drug in order to feel these enlightened effects.

If someone in government wants to stay successful they have to make everyone happy first. I don't understand how this can be a difficult concept for people.

Your statement is false. Weed is much safer than alcohol. You can't die from marihuana overdose, or at least nobody ever died from it, as opposed to alcohol. Acetaldehyde (the metabolic byproduct of alcohol) can seriously **** up your body.
