That's because you're supposed to inject it you fool

NO! It's much easier to Over dose on bears threw injection.
Just last week i wound up in the hospital after injecting 3 bears. Smoking is much safer, unless you mix breeds.

Wasn't it banned because of an early study that showed that it made women horny for black people?
User avatar #92 to #68 - haunterbrony (06/27/2013) [-]
Acutally, it was banned because people made ropes out of it, thus the rope industry would've gone bankrupt

Please correct me if I'm making a total fool ot of myself
User avatar #101 to #92 - YeYouKnoMe (06/27/2013) [-]
No it's true, not just rope industries though, there were a lot more uses for it, a lot. They just don't legalize it because of the amount of money they will lose.
User avatar #217 to #101 - RandomAnonGuy (06/27/2013) [-]
Close but no cigar. Someone ran a smear campaign against it and that's why it's illegal and therefore not on the market. It's not that the big companies are withholding it.
User avatar #230 to #217 - YeYouKnoMe (06/27/2013) [-]
Nah, I don't think the government cares what people think, why do you think everything is rigged, they do it for the money.
User avatar #235 to #230 - RandomAnonGuy (06/27/2013) [-]
The government represents you, not the other way round. You've seen what happens when they try to ban something when we don't want them to, and you've seen what happens when something we want is banned. If someone in government wants to stay successful they have to make everyone happy first. I don't understand how this can be a difficult concept for people.
Also, if marijuana was made legal, it'd be pretty good for the economy. Just one more good to export that has it's own advantages. It's really not a bad thing for the government.
User avatar #242 to #235 - YeYouKnoMe (06/27/2013) [-]
I haven't seen what happens, why did they put laws for protesting? How are you going to demand if it's illegal to protest?
User avatar #244 to #242 - RandomAnonGuy (06/27/2013) [-]
You been living under a rock? SOPA? How about the prohibition? And when the government somehow manages to ban protesting, there's a revolution. There's simply no way to lead a democracy like a tyrant.

The marijuana plant is natural.

Lighting it on fire and breathing in the smoke to feel light-headed and hungry isn't natural.
User avatar #164 to #85 - konradkurze (06/27/2013) [-]
breathing any kind of smoke isnt natural, hence the body's reaction called coughing' as in lungs rejecting it

#9 to #5 - anon (06/27/2013) [-]
all the chemicals like pesticides that are involved in the production of tobacco make it more harmful than it needs to be
User avatar #16 to #5 - whycanticaps (06/27/2013) [-]
tobacco by itself isn't too bad, it's what else they load into cigarettes that is bad
#30 to #16 - anon (06/27/2013) [-]
But over the years of breeding tobacco, the plant also got a whole lot worse than it was when we first found it. Alot more potent.

That being said, cigarettes do add buttloads of bad stuff.
#32 to #16 - tjocksnorris (06/27/2013) [-]
So what about smoking from a Pipe?
User avatar #33 to #32 - whycanticaps (06/27/2013) [-]
it's not too bad, but other than the fact you are inhaling smoke, it's not that bad when compared to smokes
User avatar #89 to #32 - newforomador (06/27/2013) [-]
Depending on how you smoke it. Some people just take the smoke into their mouth, others will actually inhale it. Like whycanticaps said though, if you inhale it, inhaling smoke isn't exactly healthy.
#202 to #89 - saladtongsofdeath (06/27/2013) [-]
just puffing tobacco wont damage your lungs, and you will get a slight buzz because of how close the blood vessels are to your gums.... but then again, it damages your gums and throat... so its really a trade-off

what kind of ******* retard are you? the tar and nicotine is all natural, which are the parts of the plant that gives you cancer

"but anon, pesticide etc..." no shut the **** up they put pesticides on EVERYTHING

seriously, your stupidity is flabergasting
User avatar #31 to #18 - celestiasbeard (06/27/2013) [-]
Tobacco plants act like a pesticide themselves since it contains more nicotine than most other plants which is known for it's wide use as a pesticide. Also tobacco plants have many other natural things in them which can be widely use in the medical fields and they have been used as so ever since the civil war era. This is because chewing some of the stronger varieties could cause numbness, which when you have massive wounds could definitely help to a great extent let alone what we could use it for with modern sciences. Lastly, while you are right it is dangerous the process is only enhanced when people decide to pt stronger elements which cause addictions at faster rates and chemicals to hold off some of the bigger pests since when processed it loses most of it's pesticide like agents. All in all you are right and wrong but leaning more towards the latter of the two.
User avatar #229 to #16 - missrainbowdash (06/27/2013) [-]
why do they load it with so much poison anyway?
User avatar #222 to #16 - brenton (06/27/2013) [-]
Burning anything oxidizes molecules, creating carcinogens. Studies have shown that even consistently eating burnt toast for breakfast (some people do, for some reason) is like letting cancer roundhouse kick you in the teeth every morning.
I may have paraphrased the results a little.

Just contributing my opinion. To everybody saying how bad marijuana is, yeah I agree to an extent, though, there is no proof that it lowers your lung capacity and kills brain cells. Another thing, Marijuana does defiantly not burn hotter than tobacco smoke, have you ever smoked a joint and then 100% tobacco? The tobacco smoke is way more chronic than the weed smoke. I agree, people who can't have fun without weed are stupid and especially if they use it to run away from their problems. To the physiologically addictive part, its true but only if you're a dumb **** who can't control your placebo. Smoking marijuana at least once in your life is good because it opens up the possibility that everything you know is wrong and it makes you start to think about your life (which is why a lot of people don't smoke, because they're too pussy to handle the reality of their life) and also, Marijuana has a lot of spiritual properties to it. (inb4 you're a faggot) Why do you think we have been smoking it for thousands of years? It was used by the Egyptians, Tibetans, Aztecs (as well as mushrooms) and so on. Another example is Bob Marley, have you noticed how happy he was all the time and how he loved life and appreciated it so much? That was because he smoked it for the right reasons, not to just get " ****** up." inb4 sea of red thumbs. Smoke one FunnyJunk

Marijuana use has been shown to cause heart attacks ("myocardial infarction" = "heart attack"), stroke, and other cardiovascular problems.

Also, individuals can develop a tolerance to the nuerological effects of long-term marijuana use, but not to the cardiovascular effects. Blood pressure keeps dropping while cardiac output keeps increasing.

[In July 1977, Marley was found to have a type of malignant melanoma under the nail of a toe. Contrary to urban legend, this lesion was not primarily caused by an injury during a football match that year, but was instead a symptom of the already-existing cancer. Marley turned down doctors' advice to have his toe amputated, citing his religious beliefs]

"which is why a lot of people don't smoke, because they're too pussy to handle the reality of their life" and " I'm not trying to convince people to smoke it" sounded a little contradictory to me. I respect your opinion, but what about all those who don't smoke because they simply don't want to, like myself? I very much agree with laelaps's opinion. Although I'd be more open to smoke if it WAS 100% natural. Unfortunately I can't be sure of it unless I was right there growing it. Sorry bro.
User avatar #63 to #62 - laelaps (06/27/2013) [-]
Why I very much respect and completely agree with your opinion, the only reason I refuse to use Marijuana is that is in essence a mind altering drug (and I'm not saying it has adverse effects on your brain or that is it bad or harmful in anyway) I just do not like the idea of having my personality being altered by messing with the chemicals released in my nervous systems. This is the same reason why I refuse to drink alcohol.

However, your point about its spiritual affects is well taken, however I feel that it is much more important for us to reach our own spiritual fulfillment through conscious philosophical effort. I feel only in that way it is genuine. You may have a really enlightened way of thinking while using and they may even carry over to when you're sober but it is important to know that THC is an addictive substance that can cause reliance on the drug in order to feel these enlightened effects.
User avatar #64 to #63 - ancientaliens (06/27/2013) [-]
I get your point, I'm not trying to convince people to smoke it, just convincing them that they shouldn't bash on it just because its a drug. Though, I appreciate that someone here has common sense.
#71 to #63 - anon (06/27/2013) [-]
I don't think your personality is really altered though. At least not negatively. It's not like you'd become a completely different person. I actually find that drunk people expose themselves for who they really are. The persona they portray is stripped and only the truth remains.

My view on marijuana:
So, I personally have seen and experienced the magic that marijuana is capable of injecting into a person's psyche. I don't see any issue with people smoking reefer. I just don't like when people talk about it all the time, as if it makes them cool. I also dislike how people think that marijuana is bad for you. Inhaling smoke is never good for you, I am not going to say that it's not. I am going to say that there are ways to smoke marijuana that are more 'healthy' for you. (Vaporizers, water pipes, etc.)
I personally smoke about once or twice a week, because it truly helps me with my major depression and anxiety.
I guess that I'm tired of people always talking about marijuana like it's something demonic, and that it doesn't have medicinal values.
Did anyone catch my injecting marijuanas reference?
