If she was willing to leave two dogs in her car unattended on a hot day, my guess would be the damage to the car. I'm no animal rights activist, but it pisses me off to see retarded people like this. She deserves whatever damage and grief came her way.

A young child died in my city recently because a negligent father left it in the car in 90 degree weather for over 2 hours...he claims he forgot where it was

90 degrees outside could easily get the internal temperature up to 130-150 inside depending on the car. Not something you'd want to leave any living creature in.

Actually, unless my school saying is lying to me, its 212 F. Of course, he could be talking Celsius, but i am going to go ahead and doubt that.
My schools motto is "212 degrees" referring to the point where water boils, "go the extra degree" or some ****.
Unless you were being sarcastic, at which point, i will leave.

No one ~has~ to leave their dog in the car...if you're going somewhere that they can't go into with you, leave them at home or with a friend/family member. I promise anyone who leaves their dog in the car on a hot day will get a ******* brick through their window and they'll never see (the dog they obviously didn't give a **** about anyways) again.

not all dogs respond well to being left at the house unsupervised, boxers for example will eat you entire ******* couch if you leave them alone. plus what if she took them to get groomed or something and had to run some errands. by the time they were done being groomed she wasn't finished with the errands?

I feel like if you can't train your dog to be safe alone, you shouldn't have the dog. Put it on a chain outside, or in a safe room with closed doors, or in a crate. Anything but in a hot car to die.

A dog is better off being crated at home, or even blocked off to a specific area of the house that is dog proofed, than they are left in a hot car to die. I've worked at grooming salons before and I can assure you almost any groomer would hang on to a dog for a little extra time if need be, rather than have them sit in a car.

but there is no way for you to know prior whether or not the owner had more errands. i understand a groomer does that. but your point has no basis. also boxers for example, can be smart. i've heard of some that can unlock their kennel, open a door, or just eat through it.

What I understand is that the owner left her dogs in a car to die. I don't care if she had more errands. Leaving her dogs in the car was no her only option. Her errands cost the dog it's life. You wouldn't believe the amount of experience I have with dogs, from volunteering at my local animal shelter for the past 6 years to working towards my veterinary assistant certification. So trust me when I say not even a boxer is going to chew through a metal dog crate or unlatch a lock...

ever hear of the aspca? if you lock the ******* cage apparently according to them its animal abuse... seeing as you claim to have many experience with dogs, im sure you've heard of them.

i am not trying to justify what happend. all i am saying is that we don't know the entire ******* situation and judging people based on a one sided story is never the way to do things.

You don't seem to understand that I don't care what the reason for leaving the dogs in the car was, because there is never going to be a reason good enough to leave your dogs to die. Do you own a dog? Do you know anything about crate training? The ASPCA does not think crate training is animal abuse...it's a common thing and a great way to keep your dog safe at home if they cannot be trusted to be left alone, as long as they're not locked in there all day. I'm not going to argue this with you. There are no opinions needed on this, because it's an absolute fact that she did not HAVE to leave those dogs in there to suffer.

What about those who are traveling a long distance with their dogs? They have to get gas or use the bathroom sometime or get food.

Don't say to use an airplane. If you're traveling just to another state, it doesn't constitute using an airplane.

They do actually. You can be charged with animal cruelty and neglect, and be footed with both the car repair bill and the emergency response cost. It all depends on the officers present though.

As long as you have some evidence and your cause was to save something's life, you're pretty set. Leaving a living thing in a place that could slowly kill it over time, and it cannot escape, is considered cruel torture (to me, I'm not sure exactly how the law see it)
But either way, the law doesn't take kindly to killing something/one, especially a baby.
And animals are gaining more rights as time goes on, so I wouldn't be surprised if doing something like that would be ok, no question.
