I don't know much about his music, but **** a duck.. The interviews I've seen with that guy make him seem like the biggest ******* douche in the world, he is just ******* rude for no reason
User avatar #89 to #65 - migzdgreat (06/22/2013) [-]
It's just my opinion but I like it when Li'l Wayne actually makes sentimental music rather than the mainstream ' **** bitches get money' and even Macklemore (The Thrift Shop guy) likes him simply because of his flow rather than the message he sends to the youth.

About the interview thing, he rapped about that in HYFR.

I don't care about the red thumbs, I like 2 kind of Hip hop because one gets me up and going and the other one gives me something to ponder about.
User avatar #90 to #89 - migzdgreat (06/22/2013) [-]
Correction, HYFR was actually made by Drake.

Sorry about that.

A lot of good underground rappers out there. They can't really breakthrough cause they don't appeal to the now defunct ring tone market or have loud obnoxious bass.

User avatar #98 to #7 - ZetzueRyuho (06/22/2013) [-]
The rap community doesn't consider HipHop dead, just the radio.

Underground rappers are the one saving grace, very few can appeal to the mainstream public and the underground.

Tupac and BIG only appealed to the "gangster" community, they weren't intelligent, just relatable.

all those guys are old school; theyre past their prime and everyone just listens to their old albums which you can do with tupac and biggie anyway. Plus even people who listen to 0 rap and talk about how great tupac and biggie were all the time know who those guys are (maybe not nas)

you clearly dont know anything about rap if you did youd post someone like joey badass, the underachievers, asap, yg, j cole, anyone from funk volume or anyone from black hippy
User avatar #103 to #100 - ZetzueRyuho (06/22/2013) [-]
Nah, I think Eminem is still relevant (or maybe that's just be staying loyal).

ya slim still sells **** tons of records and has way more fans than anyone else but he hasnt released an album since 2010 and recovery was only pretty good and relapse kinda sucked, i just dont think hes gonna make another great album (he can still kill it when he freestyles and i am looking forward to what hes making with kendrick right now though)

"i clearly know nothing about rap" that is the stupidest statement ive heard today, congratulations you just earned that prize, i was just naming some good rappers off the top of my head it wasnt supposed to be an in depth comment about rap, plus i dont even like funk volume and black hippy is alright, you're a a ****** idiot too if you think i know nothing about rap because i didnt post someone that you thought was in taste, and eminem and nas arent past their prime
User avatar #144 to #142 - therealwaynebrady (06/22/2013) [-]

I think we're actually in one of the golden ages of rap. I miss outkast and wu tang and the old school **** , but there are some really good new rappers. I mean, we got Dr. Dre, Eminem, Nas, Tech N9ne (even though he's like 60 now), Joey Bada$$ (worst name of all time), Earl Sweatshirt (Worst name of all time runner up), Aer, Macklemore (Thrift Shop isn't his only song) There's a lot out there people just don't spend the time to find good music.
User avatar #101 to #93 - ZetzueRyuho (06/22/2013) [-]

If the American flag touches the ground, they do realize you're supposed to burn it, right?
That's what really bothered me. If he didn't mean to, mistakes happen. It's still horrible, but they need to burn it.
The flag code seems to have changed, but I was taught you should do this by my grandfather who fought in Vietnam.

There are tons of popular rappers worse than Lil Wayne, it's just cool on the internet to hate on him. Yep you're all conformists.
Lil Wayne's not one of the new school rappers, kids and haters don't know about old school Wayne, he first signed to Cash Money around 1992, and he became serious about it when he was about 14 when his father was killed. After having some great years with the Hot Boys, he released his first solo album (was almost free of curse words due to his mother's wishes), which went platinum.
Look I'm not saying, he is the best rapper, and I certainly don't agree with the bitch in the content, but damn it's incredible how many haters Lil Wayne has, and I mean I understand if you don't like him, but most of you just repeat the same three things against him
I know I'm getting thumbed down before even being given a chance just cause I'm defending Lil Wayne .
I'm gonna make another comment by the way.

I just hate the way he flows. I mean his voice is just... Really annoying to me, the auto tuned one, never really can say I heard him really flow.
User avatar #58 to #51 - onceman (06/22/2013) [-]
Yeah mostly shows good flow in his mixtapes, but I don't really think he's every had great outstanding flow.

This is when the production quality was exceptionally worse, but he spits pretty damn good.

I don't know many people who don't like to rap along with this, unique flow

This has autotune, but it's tolerable, and the flow is kinda generic, not as unique.

Saying he destroyed hip hop is like saying for the sake of comparison that Attack Attack ruined rock music.

Lil Wayne does sucks, but I love how most of funnyjunk thinks that they are such rap enthusiasts when all they know about rap is how great Biggie and Tupac were and how terrible Lil Wayne is.
