Now the PS4 and Xbox One are virtually the same in specs and what not. The only thing different is the price, so now its only a matter of preference.

Backwards Compatibility.

That pretty much ends this discussion.

Well, PS4 still has far better specs and a lot more available RAM (and better RAM).
It also does not require the PS4s Kinect equivalent to function. What anyone thinks about devices like the Kinect is up to them, but I absolutely hate it. It does however, open up some cool new possibilities, but I can't stand sitting there yelling at the screen. And as for turning on the Xbone, I'd do that with the controller. The PS4 is also cheaper than the Xbone, which is always a big bonus.

As far as exclusives go, they are a matter of opinion and do not make either console better than the other.

I'd just like to point two things out:
1) Microsoft says these things are true. However in the user agreements it specifically states that you agree Microsoft has the right to change the term of service at any time. Meaning at any time from now until the Xbox One dies, they can go back to the old model and tell everyone "too bad, so sad, we lied." I'm not saying they'll do that - Microsoft isn't actually evil - just that it's possible.

2)The specs aren't actually the same. They have virtually the same CPU, yes. But that barely matters in a gaming world. They have the same quantity of memory, but get this, the PS4 uses unified memory all in high bandwidth GDDR5. The Xbox One uses DDR3 for it's main memory block. That gives the PS4 much better heap access abilities - which is pretty major in games.
Onto terms of the GPU - the PS4 has a pretty damn snazzy GPU. Double-precision integrated chip running quite some speed faster than an HD 7990's double precision goes (something like 1.8 GFLOPS I believe - I haven't seen these specs in a while). The Xbox postponed spec release because they're chip isn't as powerful. Quite a bit less, in fact. They planned to swap chips at the last second to try and match or outdo the PS4 chip. Thus you have no details on that.

3) As well, they don't come with the same accessories. The Xbox comes with the Kinect - that's actually great if developers make proper use of it. Before nothing really used the Kinect because almost no one had it. So now that everyone does, I hope they really innovate with it.
For controllers the Xbox just made a non-backwards compatible version to grab cash. It's obvious. The PS4 on the other hand comes with their new controller with a touch screen on it and a couple new buttons. Again, this is extremely cool if the developers make proper use of it.
Otherwise it's all gay as ****.

I prefer the Xbox, simply because of TWO reasons.

-HALO
-The OS is, imo, better than the PS's.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather NOT have Microsoft spying on me.

You have a mobile phone? Then your mobile operator can spy on you.

You use Google? So Google can spy on you.

You use web-based email? So your email provider can spy on you.

So what the **** is your point?

Why would you possibly think Microsoft would spend millions on developing something just so they can "spy" on some guy getting slightly agitated while play some FPS, get over yourself

than whats the point of having a smartphone or having a phone in general, because with that logic thats basically what your telling us because i can image you have your phone on you the whole time, so everything you say could be recorded without you knowing, oh but no people like you are like
"hurr durr xbox is spying me" and thats really a stupid and unreasonable statement to give because you don't want to buy console, sure you can choose your own console or buy both, but giving a reasoning like that is just stupid

HA... Hahahahaha...hahhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.... oh you silly silly person. D'you really think Microsoft is going to keep their word for long? They dint' feel their mistake in their sales. they will do it again. And then there's til the while registering your games that is required. Nothing has changed, it's still a **** system.
