Why did you want the DRM?

I am on the same boat as you. I was really looking forward to some of the really cool things they were going to do with the console. I was more so hoping for Steam like discounts in the future, but now it is just another Xbox 360 with improved graphics and a better controller. Hopefully they can pull in some free to play titles like Warframe and Blacklight or something I haven't seen yet.

Yes it's true. And it's likely they will reinstate these DRM policies after they have a sizable userbase.

reinstate drm after advertising selling their console as a non drm piece of technology? surely that's illegal? let alone terrible business practice. they'd have to release a new model, and i doubt any of the people who invested in the original "no drm" edition will be willing to "upgrade".

They've been going full steam ahead on their DRM policies since day one and just all of a sudden stopped it. You think their gonna just keep the changes now? Plus there's no legal precedent that says they can't.

If it's being patched out they can easily patch it back in.

Can the Xbox brand just die out? Microsoft proved over the last few months they can't handle the console market.

Just let it die gracefully.
