Was that the Atari game?
User avatar #18 to #12 - mcginley (06/16/2013) [-]
No, that's the graphical limits of North Korea's technology.
User avatar #35 - yunoknow (06/16/2013) [-]
Gran Turismo had ******* amazing graphics for a PS1 game and you can never take those memories away from me.
User avatar #37 to #35 - TommyV (06/16/2013) [-]
Yeah, the older games focused more on funness than graphics.

In my opinion i think it's really impressive how good Polyphony Digital can make the graphics look like with a PS3's hardware. But then again, PD has always been one of the best game developers in the world.

Is it just me or is that spoiler way to big for that car?

just talking about looks here
#39 to #11 - Rascal (06/16/2013) [-]
Oh, about looks, gotcha. I was gonna talk about aerodynamics there for a second.
User avatar #19 - yourfears (06/16/2013) [-]
Forza 5 looks AMAZING. Xbox one looks like **** . this is problem

Eh, I'm gonna power through the bad things. On paper I understand that they're trying to evolve consoles, they're just jumping in the deep end without learning to swim first. They gotta move slowly, not all at once.

That being said, I still like the XB1 exclusives better than the PS4 exclusives.

Graphics are like sprinkles

All they do is make the product look nicer
User avatar #34 to #28 - screamingcabbage (06/16/2013) [-]
That is not the greatest comparison
#40 to #28 - Rascal (06/16/2013) [-]
Graphics don't "make" the game, but they do make the game a lot more enjoyable. Lets be honest, if you were playing a game with bad graphics and got mad at it or something, you'd start pointing out its flaws and graphics would be one of them.
User avatar #29 to #28 - greatgatsby (06/16/2013) [-]
I forgot that sprinkles can't help if the ice cream sucks.

for those bad at analogies
(graphics don't make a good game, game play does)
#31 to #29 - sanguinesolitude (06/16/2013) [-]
This image has expired
but if you have to have bad icecream, coat that ************* in a ******* of sprinkles.

fun fact. did you know the short cylindrical "sprinkes" in that picture are technically called jimmies?
User avatar #48 to #31 - greatgatsby (06/17/2013) [-]
I thought calling them Jimmies was just a New Jersey thing

You don't watch porn for a storyline, why would you play a game for its graphics?
User avatar #43 to #33 - sphinxchild (06/16/2013) [-]
No, but I do watch porn for the graphics, and play games for the storyline.

GT6 is going to be sick on the ps4
#17 to #6 - tochas (06/16/2013) [-]
isn't it on the ps3?
User avatar #24 to #6 - chiktikkavaspaus (06/16/2013) [-]
GT6 is on PS3. I think Sony did that so that Driveclub gets all the racing attention on PS4.
User avatar #47 to #24 - legionx (06/17/2013) [-]
they announced it for both i think the release date is later for the Ps4 version

The only problem I have with this is the fact that looking at the car from the top is a horrible angle when playing the game
#25 - lyphowut (06/16/2013) [-]
Look at these cars!
The doors of cars, the outside of cars!
The leather seats, it's like you're really in a car!
Cars, graphics, cars!

So, a screenshot from Gran Turismo 1 and then a screenshot from a game not of the Gran Turismo series.
User avatar #2 to #1 - wutzittooya (06/15/2013) [-]
He's talking graphics in general, bro, not just the GT series
User avatar #3 to #2 - kikkilinu (06/15/2013) [-]
Well, yeah, but he could have at least compared the graphics of then and now using a specific series.
User avatar #4 to #3 - wutzittooya (06/15/2013) [-]
Of course he could have. But almost everything posted on Funnyjunk is not the poster's work, they just post it for thumbs. If this is not his, then you can't really get on his case about it just because he wanted to prove that graphics are getting much much better and at a very quick pace and earn some thumbs while doing so. If it is his, then all he is trying to do is prove what I said before, that the capability of graphics has reached a very much improved state within an 8 year period for video games.
User avatar #5 to #4 - kikkilinu (06/15/2013) [-]
Oh believe me, I know what he was trying to get across, whether or not it was his.

I'm just a fan of Gran Turismo that's all.
User avatar #27 - lincolnpenis (06/16/2013) [-]
One's a Pagani Zonda, the other's a Honda Accord.

It's stupid to make a comparison from this.

Ok how many of you 100% completed any Gran Turismo game?

I almost got Gran Turismo 2 to 100%, but 99 lap races were kinda too much
User avatar #26 to #20 - talkingmouth (06/16/2013) [-]
**** 99 lap races, GT 5 has REAL TIME 24 HOUR RACES
User avatar #32 to #20 - sanguinesolitude (06/16/2013) [-]
i played it a few times and then sold it to gamestop. Pretending to drive a car doesnt do much for me for some reason, though i enjoy actually driving. If i got the full setup with wheel and pedals etc. maybe, but just not my thing.
User avatar #41 to #20 - WastedDrudge (06/16/2013) [-]
I remember trying a 99 lap race once, and it bugged so I won after lap 82
User avatar #16 - Vooduty (06/16/2013) [-]
knowing Forza 5 is going to be xbox one exclusive makes me sad.
User avatar #7 - whycanticaps (06/16/2013) [-]
I like Burnout. Is the new Forza gonna be anything like it? As in you can pit someones car and send it flying into a building, just for fun? Or if you hit someone do you lose points.
User avatar #8 to #7 - dksidefortyone (06/16/2013) [-]
not quite, its more open world, arcade like, but you need to buy all your cars. You can screw around a lot and not get bored, I quite like it.
