>Features that probably won't work
There's plenty of legitimate things to criticize the xbox one for. Pulling assumptions out of your ass is just lazy.

>Region locked

Region locked devices are not uncommon. This shouldn't be any sort of problem for 99% of people.

There are a number of reasons to criticize the xbox one. These two, however, are ******** .

also the always watching you thing the camera is off the only thing the kinect does is detect when someone says xbox on

It's because the PS4 isn't region locked. SOme people actually like to import Japanese games. There's also the off chance that you move to another country, though the chances of that are slim. Still, it's not really something to complain about.

LISTEN THE **** UP. Almost everyone on the Internet needs to educate themselves on how Xbox One game licensing works, because while it really is excessively complex, it's not all that bad. You can have 10 users in a "family", and that can be anyone with an xbox. Those 10 people can share their game library with each other for free, and although you can only share with one person at a time, you can still play the games you own while sharing them with someone else. Also, if you buy a disc based game, you can remove the license from your account, and that license can be transferred (but only once) to a new account. You can either give someone else that game (as long as they've been on your friend list for 30 days), trade it digitally for xbox store credit, or sell it at a participating retailer. MS only wants retailers that are going to participate in their program that gives a portion of that sale to the game publishing company. Also, If your friend or uncle gets a new xbox but your "family" is already full, you can still log into your account on his xbox, and play all the games you own, and the ones you're borrowing from others, your friend just can't play them once you sign out. If he wants to play those games when you leave, he would have to pay for a game license. This all explains why you need to do 24 hour authentication, there's a lot of online game sharing going on, they don't want someone using a friend's game,or borrowing a family game, and then just unplugging the Internet and keeping the game indefinitely.

MS has said multiple times that they won't be backing down on these policies, because they promise that users will appreciate them once they understand how they work. I agree, I think it sounds fantastic, and for people with a lot of gamer friends, you're actually gonna have the opportunity to save quite a bit of money using this system.

Publishers can choose to block games being shared.
Indie games need a publisher.

It's a good concept that MS are retarded for not hammering into us during E3 and the reveal, but wait until the feature is actually implemented and then how publishers will work with it, theoretically game sales could fall by 90%, and I don't see EA letting 10 people play a game for the price of one. Devs yes, publishers no. And publishers are mandatory.
User avatar #209 to #185 - thewaronbeingcool (06/15/2013) [-]
Still sounds ******** to me.

A lot of it sounds worse than what we already have, and the only saving grace is the sharing between 10 accounts, which shouldn't require an online connection for the entire console but to just play the shared game.

If this works how you have described it then its a good idea, but in my personal opinion i feel like they shouldn't have to do this and restrict this market. i had a 360 and argued with PS3 owners day and night on how crap it was but i think this generation playstation has just pinched it.

(thanks for explaning how it works)
User avatar #210 to #205 - drunkasaurus (06/15/2013) [-]
Yes, they shouldn't have to do this, but I'm guessing this was all done at the request of game publishers who believe used game sales and rentals are their largest loss of revenue. The Xbox One DRM is hurting gamestop, gamefly, etc. way more than it's hurting consumers.

I see so many people talking **** about the xbox one but ive never seen a single source to anything bad. Just seems like typical sheep mentality of one person on the internet not liking it so everyone else tries to fit in.

Not that it matters pc dwarfs consoles

WRONG! You can't use the XBox One as a brick. It does not have nearly enough compressive strength.

The XBOX ONE would TOTALLY FAIL as a brick.

Trust me, I'm an engineer.

I always wanted to join PC gaming, and the Xbox One is forcing me to do so. I will not stand by and get raped by this console, and I refuse to switch to PS4 (bunch of filthy casuals). So PC, here I come, I will soon join the.....(pic).

pc has alot of interesting games like team fortress 2 (the way its supposed to be played on not that bitch orange box on the 360) age of empires/mythology, even mafia, plus i find it easier to look around in first person shooters, the mouse just adds more freedom in my opinion..

Extra fee if used? no, not always, just possible.
Does your machine watch you?
Your machine?
I guess if a webcam can watch you then so does your computer or xbox 360 kinect.
Features that probably won't work?
explain.

Microsoft was the first company to join PRISM. It's gonna be spying on us, why else is it required? No one likes the damn thing anyway.
User avatar #173 to #157 - breadbasket (06/15/2013) [-]
You can unplug a webcam, and your computer will still play games.
On the Xbox one, it's required that you have to have the kinect plugged in at all times.

sooo up until about 2 months ago i didn't own an xbox 360 (pc gamer). most advanced console i owned was a ps1...yeah... wanted to play halo/fifa with some friends so i got one. what the heck. here's me thinking sure the new xbox will be out soon but i'll just trade in and keep the games/data like i did when ps2 released. long story short: mfw
[not raging just sigh]
User avatar #159 to #154 - XZeenon (06/15/2013) [-]
You already had a PlayStation, why not get a PS4?
User avatar #160 to #159 - annamine (06/15/2013) [-]
i guess just solely because my friends have xboxs and therefore controllers. tbh i didn't really think it would have been an issue as i've never really seen a dramatic difference between the xbox and playstation capabilities until now.
i wonder if microsoft will actually pay attention to the feedback though?
User avatar #161 to #160 - XZeenon (06/15/2013) [-]
Well, don't worry about it. Your friend's controllers from the Xbox 360 won't even work with the Xbox One! So... you can get a PS4!

lmao yeah i know **** me right. i'll prob wait a couple years til the ps5 and xbox 2 are a week from release and buy a super nintendo for £1,000,000,000

User avatar #188 to #141 - thewaronbeingcool (06/15/2013) [-]
You'd be surprised actually.

The PS4 has surpassed it for pre-orders on Amazon.

Gamestop is supposedly handing out fliers to educate their customers about the xbone's limitations.

Loads of Gamestop stores are reporting they've sold out on pre-orders for it, and they still have several PS4's left. Sounds bad, but then Gamestop is only taking pre-orders for like 4-10 xbones, whilst they're taking up to like 30 pre-orders for PS4s.

Although I rarely use my computer without Internet, I do quite like playing video games offline. Weather it be single player or local multiplayer with my friends. I don't get why I should need Internet for this.

But I'll probably end up avoiding both sony and Microsoft and go with a WiiU...

Save up for the Oculus Rift which is coming soon, virtual realiy gameplay.
