More the 2nd one.

Think of it like this. Microsoft accidentally cut itself. Sony proceeded to rip open the wound and pour salt directly into it.

The "Sony wrecked MS" joke has less to do with PS4 having a spectacular showing and more to do with Sony taking unrelenting potshots at MS's poor decisions during and after their conference, which, if you ask me, is hilarious. But I guess I can see how the joke's wearing thin around here.

Both are unimpressive. Either one works for normal gaming. Buy a Wii U if you want to have fun when gaming. Get some friends together and play Super Smash Bros.

It's funny because the only people who care are you Sony fanboys. Seriously, microsoft fans don't even care lol. They are just like nintendo fans. Sony fanboys are the only ones who need to justify their console.

The reason Microsoft fans don't care is because those that are still Microsoft fanboys are following the company blindly and disregarding the ******** they have implemented in the XBOX One.
Really, you shouldn't be a fan of anything. Instead you should stick to the facts about a system and THEN decide to get the one that suits you.
Always on Kinect, strict DRM, a less powerful system than PS4, 100$ more expensive than PS4, needs to phone home every 24 hours in order to even ******* work, requires indie developers to partner up with a publisher if they want to release on the platform (basically not indie games then). There is NO reason besides some exclusives to get an XBOX One. Anyone who still thinks otherwise needs to wake the **** up. And a lot of 360 fans have claimed they don't like what Microsoft's doing and moving to Sony. Oh and then there's the Wii U with a severe lack of proper games. Developers don't want to make games for the system because not enough people bought it, and very few people buy it because there are not enough games for it. It's a vicious circle, and buying a Wii U would in my opinion require a LOT more justification than buying a PS4.

I already did, and its far from being a console only for tv and sports. It's not always on kinect (read better), if you can appreciate the the technological difference between PS4 and X1 then cheers on you (i honestly dont know each technical features, but i saw gameplays of both, and, well, both should be described with "wow ****"), it is more expensive, but you get kinect, the 24 h check is huge ****, but well, im using internet right now (just like you, i think) so no big deal either, i dont know much bout indie developers and stuff so i better shup up on that, and finally, the thing about DRM is that you get the license of playing a game when you buy it, u can resell this license, gift it (only once -.-), play on any X1 without the disc, etc. So basically it's a new way of doing things, not the best, but definitely not as bad as everybody is bitching about. Another thing is that microsoft may probably listen to feedback and it gets even better. Still i respect you opinion, but i think that it is not yours, it is from allllllll this people u see complaining. "Anyone who still thinks otherwise needs to wake the **** up." dont be like that ;)

Seems like you don't know anything about the console, both feature wise and technology wise, and it's obvious you are just defending Microsoft, if not because of fanboyism, then for the sake of having a different opinion than everyone else. Everything I mentioned are facts, like it or not. Microsoft may have a way to spin the story to make it sound like they are doing this to provide a better experience and you seem to have taken their bait and refuse to be educated by rational consumers. Saying you don't know about many of these things just proves how illogical you are and how weak your arguments are. Buying an XBOX One is saying:

- I'm okay with requiring an internet connection AT LEAST once every 24 hours.
- I'm okay with Kinect ALWAYS being on, REQUIRED in order for the system to work. This is a fact you cannot deny, they have confirmed this in several interviews - here's one from IGN: www.ign.com/articles/2013/05/21/xbox-one-will-not-function-without-kinect-attached
- I'm okay with Microsoft validating every hour online if I'm playing any of my games on my friend's XBOX logged in to my own account.
- I'm okay with Microsoft requiring indie devs to royally screw themselves over by having to go to either a 3rd or 1st party publisher (thus, not indie anymore)
- I'm okay with paying 100$ more for a system with inferior hardware (this is a fact as well, the PS4 is likely to have 50% more graphical processing power): www.expertreviews.co.uk/games/1296739/xbox-one-drm-features-news-price-specs-release-date

I don't know how I can be more clear about this and I don't really care what you think of my tone, I'm only trying to educate you. Personally I'm more into PC gaming, so don't think that I'm just some fanboy. The PS4 is a much inferior system than my own gaming PC right now.

The fall of this is happening again by sony's command yet the xbox 360 still has hundreds of games coming to it. Just because the playstation 4 beats the xbox one doesn't mean we should all rush to Sony. Next gen consoles suck and only the xbox 360 remains and I'm looking forward to Destiny, GTA V and Ass creed IV.

TL;DR just play your goddamn games.

Yes, it certainly is easy to just not care about these issues. What was the point of your comment exactly? It's comletely out of context. I never said we need to rush to Sony, I'm saying that - compared to the XBOX One - the PS4 is the superior platform for core gamers. Personally I couldn't care less about the current gen of consoles, since they have been holding back the possibilities of PC gaming for such a long time. I'm excited for the new consoles mostly because their architecture is in the x86 format, which means better optimised games for PC. I'm not going to just sit by and play old games on my PS3 and 360 and not participate in the discussion. It's a dumb attitude to have. I am also myself looking at a possible future in games development, so that might be the course of my own eagerness.

Just out of curiosity, what is it exactly you are looking forward to in Destiny? From what I've seen so far of the game it just looks like a Star Wars inspired Borderlands-esque co-op shooter with some elements from Journey where you meet random people dynamically through the level. I suppose that is pretty cool, but nothing about the title feels innovative at all to me.

Like you, i will stay with my pc, i do not intend to buy any of both consoles. I dont defend microsoft, if you read my post you will see. And:

- Yeah i'm okay with requiring an internet connection at least once every 24 hours, i have internet.

-Kinect is always plugged in, not "on", read the privacy terms.

-I'm ok with Microsoft validating every hour online if i'm playing at a friends house, if he has X1, he has internet.

-I'm not a developer, but, getting published is not something bad, well, u can't call yourself "indie" anymore, thats like a huge problem....

-The hardware difference between PS4 an X1 is there, yeah, but PS4 is slightly better, both have 8GB RAM, PS4 RAM is faster, that doesn't mean that X1 RAM is slow, it is slower, but still fast, and that is what matters, and graphicaly i compare with gameplays, not with numbers, but yeah, PS4 is more powerfull (1152 compute units), but that doesn't mean X1 graphic power (768 compute units) is ****, it is still amazing (IMO). Oh, and kinect, u get a badass 3d camera.

AGAAAAAAAAAAAAIN..... i still stay with pc, but if u were pointing a gun to my head and i had to decide between PS4 or X1, i would choose X1, because for me there is no practical hardware difference (both are stuning graphically), i couldn't care less about the internet restriction (again, i have internet), and again everything i told you before. The only thing, that really makes a difference between PS4 and X1, for me at least, are the games, and personally i find X1 games better.

sorry for TL;DR: The only thing you should have in mind if you want to decide about X1 or PS4: Games

For the sake of not screwing over your fellow gamer, do not support Microsoft's practices. I would also like to point out that many of the games that Microsoft said were exclusives were, in fact, either ALSO coming to PS4 or coming to XBOX AND PC. Games such as Metal Gear Solid V and Titanfall.

1) Yes you have internet, but you can never be 100% sure it will always stay on and be reliable, let alone be assured that Microsoft's servers will always be available, since servers will sometimes have to be maintained. Steam has a freaking offline mode allowing me to play offline for as long as I want provided I was logged in when I went offline first of course. XBOX One doesn't have that. You must understand how many people don't have as reliable an internet connection as others. If my ISP ***** up when the authentication is supposed to take place then I won't be able to play. And that's ********.
2) When the Kinect is plugged in, it WILL be on. Sure, you can turn it off while the system is off itself, but Kinect will always be listening to "XBOX On" when the console it turned off. I do believe Kinect has proven itself as a useless piece of hardware that, while has some cool features, is NOT good for gaming. The way you can implement Kinect into core games is so limited that it's utterly retarded to require the camera in order for the console to be turned on - it ups the price, because they need to bundle it with the console. Kinect is a proven gimmick.
3) No, you're not a developer and apparently don't know the basics of publishing, so you really have no say in this. But the consequence of this is that you won't see indie devs go to Microsoft, but instead to Sony because they can self publish - leading to less innovation in the XBOX library and a thriving community on the PS4.
4) I don't know what kind of PC you have, but it doesn't seem like you care much about the smaller things (which really are big factors IMO) such as framerate and anti-aliasing. As an avid PC gamer framerate is the most important thing for my enjoyment of a game. I will turn every graphics option down if I can get a smoother framerate out of it. I'm on a 120Hz monitor and I need at LEAST 70 FPS - something that a better graphics card WILL provide.
5) The price.

1) Again, internet restriction is ****, but in my case it wont be a problem, and of all people complaining ON INTERNET about needing internet most wont have a problem either, it is not common to loose internet conection for more than 24h.
2)"When Xbox One is on and you’re simply having a conversation in your living room, your conversation is not being recorded or uploaded." and "When the system is off, it’s only listening for the single voice command -- “Xbox On,” and you can even turn that feature off too"
3)Developers not going to microsoft is speculation, we will see, i dont know the details of how the publishing deals with devs will be, but i dont think Microsoft wants to screw them, they want money, and more devs is more money.
4)When both consoles come out you will see what i mean with "practically no difference", it will be about the game more than about the console...
5)100$ more and you get kinect (you have to be pretty cynical if you say that you wont enjoy this at least a bit, when you are with friends or throwing a party, and with this gen there may be core games for X1 that use kinect, in 360 kinect had to be bought apart, but now it comes with the console, so every X1 will have kinect) and moreover, i wouldn't feel like i am buying a less powerful system, on paper X1 is less powerful than PS4, but if you say X1 is a weak system then..... well, i think that that is blind hatred, i honestly think that each game will have its graphic power, regardless of the console.

Well if 50% isn't an sign that there will be a significant increase in graphical horsepower on the PS4 compared to XBOX One I don't know what will be.
I'm in no way being cynical when I say Kinect is a big piece of useless expensive hardware for gaming. I don't want to wave my arms and talk to my TV - I'd look like an idiot (but that's just mine among everyone else's opinion). There has been only 1 game that works well with Kinect thus far, and that's Dance Central which is just a party game, not something I as a core game would ever consider getting. Plus, that's 60$ on top of the 100$ extra for the XBOX One. No, the voice commands do NOT count as Kinect-only features (not that you said it) as we all know it's just a matter of putting a microphone in the living room (or in the freaking headset?) and making the machine respond via a library of words. There are multiple other examples of why Kinect is bad gaming device, when the AAA core games are shying away from it. Ryse that was going to be a solely Kinect controlled game was quickly changed to a 3rd person gamepad controlled spectacle fighter, Microsoft did not show ANYTHING Kinect related at the press conference - I don't think that's a coincidence since they have seen the backlash from the core gaming audience. If Microsoft had ANY sense, they would not bundle the new Kinect with the console - instead they should let consumers decide if it's something they'd be interested in, but Microsoft had to be Apple in this situation and tell US what we want - this is a terrible business practice and we do not want another Apple on our hands with an iron grip on their customers that are too stupid to make decisions for themselves. It is confirmed as of 05/22-2013 that indie devs won't be able to selfpublish: www.shacknews.com/article/79309/xbox-one-wont-allow-indies-to-self-publish-games
For anyone interested in not dealing with BS at the sacrifice of a few XBOX exclusives getting a 100$ cheaper console is ideal.
