i have an old macbook pro (yeah "macfag gtfo boooo") and it weights less than 2kg and it's really like having nothing on my knees

well i'm not saying you, but someone will show up eventually..

to be honest i got it from my dad when i started architecture.. back then mac had no AutoCAD (most used program in architecture)

genius.jpg

i was disappointed when i got it, but then it was useful with my music production (more stable than Vista back in the days while dealing with my programs) and somehow i managed to use it with windows for what i needed with CAD

Right now it's pretty easy to learn, you've got a ******** of tutorials on youtube so just give it a try! When i started EDM wasn't so relevant so there were almost no tutorials, so i had to figure it out all by myself.. I suggest you to start with ableton live, it's pretty simple and there are many tutorials for it! If you have some basic knowledge of music you shouldn't have many problems to understand what you have to do, you just have to be confortable with the program you use.. like knowing what to do and how to do it. Now for me it has been 4 years and when i start a new project i do all the drum parts and so in like 1 minute, than i get myself busy with melodic parts, sound design and song's structure..

Give it a try, you have nothing to lose!

My old Toshiba Qosmio weighed roughly the same. After we cracked it open to see, there was quite a few of Heatsinks, 2 slots for the ram, a large SSD and backup HDD plus all the other essentials... it does add up. But then again, my Desktop, fully loaded weighs approximately 8Kg. But my Qosmio also had 18.2" Diagonal screen dimensions which weighed it down a **** ton too.

Tl;dr: had similar laptop, it's legit, large screen though; my Desktop rig is approx 8KG total

I like being mobile with my laptop... hence why I got a laptop. Personally, I wouldn't game on a laptop when I have my perfectly fine 7950 Video card in my desktop, but some people only want a laptop.

Just the simple "eh it's getting too loud in here, I wanna head in the other room." Of course this would be just as simple to fix as you suggested, but I live in a full house. Full of my brother and his friends who are post-HS, pre-college ages. Plus simply getting up and moving it around from what I got used to doing with my current 1kg laptop. I'm probably looking too into this.

This thing works in such a way that it prevents movement sideways relative to the pad,
but you can easily lift up objects placed on them. They can do this since it is most likely
covered with some nano-sized coating, or maybe "nanohairs" that make an uneven
layer that increase the surface area of the pad by a huge factor. The you have your
regular van der Waals forces and such that keep the stuff intact.

This means that you might be able to climb a wall, if you dont tilt yourself too much.

except for the fact that if you were to use these like walking on walls and stuff your body would immediately fall to the ground because of gravity
unless your legs are ******* buff as **** i don't think walking on walls would be possible
but if you put them on the hands and toes...

Once you put them on the wall, are you really going to be able to fluently remove them and put them back fast enough to really climb? You'd have to exert more force than a fridge.

It's simple yet hard to explain. You can't pull that fridge down very easily at all but you could easily just grab it and pull it towards you. That's what I'd be doing with my hands.

Ah. But why? Wouldn'y pulling it either direction be difficult? It must be much more than sheer friction if it holds up a freaking fridge.
The original version of this post apparently had someone put a chair up and sit on it.

Not pulling up or down or left or right, but toward you. Just like peeling it or something. Also I read on the website that it's the texture combined with the silicone that it's made from which makes it so good at what it does.
