To all of the "Why do you all care about movie plots?" D-bags:

I can't speak for anyone else, however in my opinion I find that enjoying movies, tv shows, and books and analyzing their plots and characters relaxing. In our ****** up world of bombings, drone strikes, corrupt leaders, drugs, gangs, ****** , rape, and holy wars. I find that picking apart plots is much easier and simpler than trying to find a way to fix problems in our world, or for that matter make sense of it. That isn't to say that we shouldn't try to find solutions to our worlds problems, however making connections within fiction is both a good way to relax, and good practice for dealing with the "real" world.

What is the theory, this happened in the movie.
#126 - anonymous (06/11/2013) [-]
You got it all wrong. The Black Pear never was a slave trade ship, its a totaly different class, designed for speed not cargo, and could never hold such a large number of people. Jack sold the souls of the 100 slaves to Davy Jones so he would raise the Black Pearl - the ship his father sunk when he retired form active piracy. Cutler Becket declared him as a pirate after this. The other story was made up as a cover to make him look better.

But since the movie takes place around the year 1800, he still must free another 40 people.

Oh my god this post is perfect.
User avatar #116 - wilvine **User deleted account** (06/11/2013) [-]
Actually, he didn't seek out Davy Jones. He swam to the bottom of the ocean and tried to pull the Wench up by himself, and nearly drowned in the process, but Jack, being the crafty and slippery talker he is, cut a deal to keep his soul and get the Wench back.
