The problem with feminism is because girls think that they need to prove themselves equal, when they already are....save for the $0.25 per hour guys in 'merica get.

I love how feminism is more focused on suppressing us men instead of focusing on equal rights etc. etc. what they're actually doing is just forcing us into making masculism groups

To be perfectly fair, we did oppress the **** out of women for.... 1900 years? So if men get a little oppressed untill things balance out, I say we kinda earned it.

That's backwards as **** . Women should be the better people and just say "Okay, that did happen to our ancestors, but not us, so we probably shouldn't hold it against these new generations for their father's mistakes. We are equal now."

It wasnt a mistake. Men used to be completely superior to women. And the survival of the species was improved by doing it.

Men were bigger, faster and stronger in a world where sized and power ruled.

So considering how men used to be completely superior.

It made it so women were generally only useful for breeding and maintaining the home or simple berry picking when the man was hunting and fighting.

And the average women in the wild could only breed from 15-30.

So woman were just given the things they could do, and not allowed to do the things they were weaker in, because they were weaker at them... In the times, it was the right thing to do, it was what made our species able to thrive.

Fast forward to today. Men are bigger, faster and stronger in a world where that means **** all. So Men and women are now equal. But you have to change 200,000 years of cultural evolution so its not going to go away completely in such a short amount of time.

Perfect! But to perfectly be perfectly clear... perfectly... There are still those men who are purposely sexist because they're living with that mindset of "old times". But yeah, there are lots of sexist women out there. The only cure for sexism is for both parties to admit they are sexist.

Oh yes, because you and I and all men alive today have been alive for roughly 1900 years and have both intentionally and personally caused the suffering of countless women. As a result, we (of course, meaning you, me, and the rest, because again, we were all alive during those years and personally committed those injustices) have rightfully and dutifully earned the suffering and oppression we have today.

Ya.

You're totally dude.

Just like how those damn Crusaders in the Vatican should have to pay the Muslims for all the crusades that happened (not to mention the Witch Hunts and Inquisitions they have all personally done). And lets not forget those damn Nazi's occupying Germany who must still work themselves to the bone to pay back the jews they slaughtered (because, of course, they were also the ones who committed those atrocities and the jews they are paying back are totally the ones that suffered in the Holocaust)

While we're at it, lets go down and make those Mexicans, who were Aztecs not even 600 years ago (almost like last week, really) pay back for all the people they sacrificed, and then make the Spanish pay back the AZTECS for destroying their culture (because both the people who destroyed the culture and the Aztecs who were part of it are totally alive and well today)

And lets just work to pay back all of the bad things that happened since the beginning of human civilization, because we were all personally there, all personally committed the crimes, and have all personally either suffered or benefited at the behest of others

Ya, that totally makes a ******** of sense and is absolutely logic we should follow

One more question, how often do you actually think before you say something?
#114 to #102 - anon (06/08/2013) [-]
Ancel was stating that it was gender oppression. That somehow women are to blame for forcing men to go to war while they "sat on their asses". And I'm the bad guy for debunking that, right. I never said men had to follow up to the standard set for them. You're arguing against a point that I don't believe and never said.
User avatar #131 to #114 - captainfuckitall ONLINE (06/09/2013) [-]
1. I really don't care about other users you've been arguing with, nor am I supporting anyone's side but my own.

2. He does have a slight point (although not a concrete one) because women were taught to believe, at the time, if their men didn't go and fight in wars, they were not men and should be ostracised.

3. I never said you were the bad-guy, nor did you properly debunk it, you just said "tell military mom's they've done nothing, I dare you" which doesn't mean anything, as women were only in the military very recently, while his 'point' goes back many hundreds of years.

4. I'm not saying you did either, than again, by that logic, women are at fault for following the standards set for them as well

5. I'm not arguing with you, I'm arguing with 'Majormoron'. If you happen to be the same person, it's awfully pathetic you care so much about thumbs. If you're not the same person, you need to keep your victim complex in check; not everyone is out to get you
#152 to #131 - anon (06/09/2013) [-]

In the present view, which he was talking about, ( his " point" doesn't go back hundreds of years, which is laughable to even call it a point because he says nothing valid) I said both genders have served. It is blatantly disrespectful to disregard women in the military and he did so. so yeah i guess it "didn't mean anything".

I'm not Majormoron. And of course i'm a victim because I reply to someone who's being idiotic. and defend an entire half of the population from being called lazy.
User avatar #167 to #152 - captainfuckitall ONLINE (06/09/2013) [-]
Yet his 'point' does. Your opinions do not over-rule hundreds to thousands of years of foundation (men went out and fought, women stayed home, if your man didn't fight he was not a man, if your woman didn't stay home she was not a woman), this foundation only changed recently. It is disrespectful, but it being disrespectful doesn't mean you're right

I really hope you were being sarcastic when you called yourself a victim, but in any case, when I said you need to keep your victim complex in check, it was because you replied to me stating points that A. had no grounds upon me, and B. that held personal points against you (you seemed to have the general idea I was deliberately targeting you, which is false). An entire half of the population doesn't need defending, if you want to do something productive, go fight for women's rights in developing countries or oppressive cultures, don't argue with some guy on the internet over opinions that hold no stake in anything that happens here
#149 to #131 - anon (06/09/2013) [-]
What the **** ? When it's a direct reply to someone you kinda need to care about what the other person was saying because if not you have no idea about context, which you clearly don't I guess.
I clearly distinguished between my past and present views. He said he wasn't talking about the past, so I didn't speak about it except for the first post. Women have been trying to be allowed to fight for hundreds of years, probably since the beginning of time, but of course women are at fault for not "getting off their asses". what the **** ever. Men are in power in the past so women are supposed to magically change the rules and claim power, or they are just as bad as the people who make them?
User avatar #171 to #149 - captainfuckitall ONLINE (06/09/2013) [-]
Instead of insulting you, I'm going to extend my patience a bit more than you deserve an go through a step-by-step process explaining why you are incorrect

1. I would care about what the other person said if it concerned them, which it doesn't. I replied to 'majormoron', not Anon, thus, Anon making it seem like I was making a personal attack against them is fruitless and inaccurate

2. Fair enough. But I don't recall a single instance where women actually TRIED to get the right to go fight and die in warfare. If you can get any evidence to back this up (not that women struggled to SUPPORT the war-effort, which is not the same as fighting it. Not that men allowed women to fight in war as a part of the 'equal rights' movement. But that they deliberately signed petitions and made an effort to allow them to be soldiers) I will retract my point and support yours. And no, women have NOT been trying to fight in war since the beginning of time, mostly because humanity was not around since the beginning of time. If you meant 'since the dawn of civilization' you would still be wrong, because there was literally no laws saying women COULDN'T be fighters or footsoldiers or knights or highwaymen or bandits, it was just generally looked down upon.

Umm...ya. That's what 'revolution' is. It happens all the time. Instead of blaming men for the short-comings of women, why not realize that both women AND men had certain roles to play and stereotypes to fill, and that neither did a very good job of resisting them (and before you say 'women were always victimized while men were put in power' remember that many cultures before modern religions actually celebrated femininity and treated both sexes as equal, this included some of the most powerful civilizations on Earth, including Egyptian and Greek)

Also, if I may...do not let your emotions and passions dominate your argument. I understand you care, and that is good, but when you let logic take the back seat you hurt more than you help

Oh, well I guess since European and American imperialism wrecked Africa and Asia for years we should let them come and screw Europe and the US so we can call it even, right? Or maybe we should hate straight people and kill them for not being gay? No, that is what we call the mental state of a 5 year old. Oppression is awful, but the idea that we should oppress someone for something that many today had no part in is a sicking mind numbing concept that only fuels hate and ignorance around the world.

Woman stayed at home on their asses, men had to fight the wars and do every single thing that lowered the average life span of their sex. If you think woman were oppressed more than men, you're retarded.
User avatar #409 to #64 - cumbersome (06/09/2013) [-]
-someone argued that women are "oppressed" because through evolution men have been (and still are) stronger/faster and therefore it has made sense to give them a lesser role in society

I can accept that, because in most cases it is definitely true. But then don't you ******* dare complain that only men are drafted. Someone argued (can't be bothered to see who it was) that it's going to take a while for these things to balance out because it's so ingrained in our society, well don't you think it goes both ways? And someone else pointed out that feminists only fight to change the things that hurt them while conveniently ignoring the things that are advantageous. Well guess what, you guys are doing the exact same thing. I agree alimony is ******** , I agree both genders should have to pay for dates, I agree drafting shouldn't be gender based, and that the above post is ******* retarded etc., etc., but I don't see one single male in this thread having any understanding at all for the fact that certain things are harder to achieve simply for being a woman.

I blame the feminazis. They're so busy shunning dicks and making women look like naive ******** that they counteract themselves. They are truly the westboro baptist church of females, only there are more of them.

.Both genders pay for dates, but it's the standard that if you take someone out, you treat them. It's the nice thing to do. Noone's holding a gun to your head to do it.
.Divorce court prejudice isn't an automatic
.Another retarded do nothing line.

User avatar #88 to #81 - srapture (06/08/2013) [-]
I agree with you on the first 2 points, but not on the third and fourth.
It is well known that you're at a disadvantage as a man in divorces. Excluding any special circumstances like abusive or alcoholic husband, women are much more likely to get the house and more custody of children (because the mother is considered to have stronger bonds with her children than the father).
The entire idea of alimony is ridiculous, and to me it seems like you've just brushed it off because you couldn't think of a rebuttal. Alimony is intended to maintain the woman's quality of life from before the couple were divorced, but the man's quality of life is obviously worse from having to regularly give money to a woman who is perfectly capable of working themselves and should be doing so. Child support is a perfectly justified and sensible idea by alimony is idiotic.
Also, I don't really like the way you've used periods as bulletpoints... That's just not right...

Women weren't the only people being oppressed. Black people, white people, men, women, everyone has been oppressed at some point. The rich guy sitting in his mansion is oppressing the poor worker miles under ground mining coal. In fact, these "so called" oppressed women got to sit back and live pretty lives as housewives (Boring yes, but also safe) while their men went out and worked themselves to death in the fields, in the mines, and on the battlefield. Women might have been "oppressed" but rarely were they ever required to make such an ultimate or selfless sacrifice. We all need to just stop blaming people, and focusing on the past, and just treat everyone with a little goddamn decency. After all, we're all a lot more alike then we realise.

This really isn't a feminist issue, it's an issue on our culture's stereotypes, and the fact that we are not all the same person with the same belief. Sam Gordan is celebrated nationally for her talent and for breaking the stereotype of females being weaker than males in athletics competitions. Keeling Pilaro's story probably is caused from being a more local issue. From an outsider and those that celebrated Sam, they would believe Pilaro could be on the team; yet from the hockey mothers' perspective, who have raised to believe that women are weaker than men all their life, a boy "dominating" their girls, not only does it prove the stereotype in their minds, it makes them concerned for their daughter's safety ( especially since hockey isn't exactly the most gentle sport in the world). These women probably asked the coach to take him off the team, and wasn't completely the coach's choice. It is important to understand that not all women are feminists and that the same hockey moms that kicked him off the team probably would scold Sam Gordan's parents for putting her in what they deem as an unsafe situation.
TL/DR: Not all people are the same and believe in physical equality, and the two contrasting opinions weren't made by the same people.

User avatar #109 to #67 - lolme (06/08/2013) [-]
Brain whise, girls usually mature faster. But the reason for that is that a boys body requires more nutrition and time to grow as it's gonna end up bigger than a girls body. (And most likely stronger.)

well idk about you but every ******* female athlete i see either is a man who got a sex change or a dyke on testosterone. I think they shouldnt play any sports at all, it lacks sportsmanship, i appreciate real female athletes that compete properly against other women. It's scientificaly proven that men are stronger than women. Every athletic world record is held by a man. girls should compete with girls and boys should compete with boys. I believe that a girl can have all the skill required, but it hurts me to see a girl get tackled by a 200+ pound bear and call it "equality"
#269 to #38 - anon (06/09/2013) [-]
Sorry, but that girl has broken absolutely no stereotypes. At no point has this girl proven that she or any other girl is as tough as the boys. Not to mention, the fact that she is playing against boys that have yet to start puberty. Now, once those boys hit puberty and get that surge of testosterone pumping through their bodies, let's see just how long she lasts in there. And then you have to take into account that a lot of these boys have been indoctrinated, from a very young age, with the idea that they should never hit girls. So it is entirely possible that the boys she plays against, are trying not to hurt her, hence giving her an unfair advantage over everyone else. I will withhold my final judgement and wait to see if she can make it into some sort of High School football team when she gets older. And even then, there will be a lot of unfairness. She will have the maniacal feminists, other females, and beta males backing her. Making opposition impossible.
