Apparently, it used to work, but then Microsoft got rid of it.

If you have windows 7 or XP then go for it, but don't even try on 64x vista. It will **** your **** up!

I did it for quite some time ago, but it's a specification that i don't use often because it's messy. It's just a list over everything you can do with your computer.

In other words, no need to do it, but if you're curious... go ahead.
Also I'm norwegian, so don't hate on my poor english.

i have had it on my desktop for 6 months now, hasn't caused any problems... what it is is just a list of almost every single option you can change on your computer so you dont have to dip and dive through properties and stuff to find something just put it in the search bar up the top... its a developers tool

As long as you use it with 7/Vista x86 or 7 x 64 you're fine. Search up "ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C"

If you try it on Vista x64 you can't use your explorer anymore

LISTEN HERE KIDS
As people have said this ***** up 64-bit Vista and if you were an idiot like me who did this before you read the comments here's the fix:
>Ctrl+Alt+Del
>Task Manager
>New task
>Winrar.exe
>Rename it to "1" or whatever
>DELETE THAT SONOFABITCH

Another guy posted what I just said except he didn't mention renaming it first, everything you tried to delete it with the original name it would just crash. Looks like an amazing tool for everyone else, but alas it just made me feel like a tool.

It's not that interesting anyway. It's just all the control panel actions listed in a single window. I find it harder to navigate than the actual standard.

You should have done a system restore. That would have saved you a lot of trouble...and all your data. This is also why it's important to keep a backup of your hard drive.

You're using 64 bit vista, which has problems with guid extensions. You didn't try booting in safemode? It should've worked and you could have deleted the folder.
One sincerely hopes this is a joke.
#426 to #110 - John Cena (06/05/2013) [-]
Haha, don't freak dude, you can fix it. All you have to do is use an alternate form of explorer to delete it. end the procesess explorer.exe and press alt control delete then new task and run something like word or something and when you press control s for save then in that explorer window delete that freaky file.

Just Vista x64
With x86 you're fine
User avatar #302 to #296 - razmantaz (06/05/2013) [-]
Basically since you can't access anything without it crashing, this is an alternate way to get to the beast folder you have unleashed upon your poor PC. The reason it's dying a slow painful death is to do with the name of the folder, so once you rename it, it is saved from eternal damnation.
#412 to #296 - John Cena (06/05/2013) [-]
Under Vista x64 you can't use your Explorer anymore.
Under Win7/Vista x86 or Win7 x64 you have access to every system option in that folder.
