To bad recent studies show that vegans are generally MORE unhealthy than the average person due to not receiving certain nutrients and vitamans usually found in meat. That being said it is also unhealthy to eat just meat. The key to being healthy is balancing your meat and greens.

Yeah, I love the "recent studies" that say if your ejaculate into your own mouth for 10 full moons you achieve immortality.

Are you retarded?
Stupid vegans who don't know how to be vegans are unhealthy. Stupid people who don't know how to eat are generally unhealthy.
Most vegans are just doing it wrong. I'm vegetarian and I balance the **** out of my food, especially because of the nutrients I'm missing from meat and have to get from other sources.

The post said nothing about not eating meat, but suggested healthy snacks/meals that just happen to not contain meat.

Just because you eat meat doesn't mean every meal has to have meat.

Well, there's a big difference between "hurrr meat is murder!1"-vegans and people that try to eat healthy (or, as long as they don't rub it in your face, vegetarian).

yeah, i notice this too. a lot of vegetarian food is really healthy, and as much as i love meat/need the protein and iron...we should really only be eating a palmfull every week or so.
also preferably locally raised animals. **** all that corporate farm ****

It was a British school thing in the 90's I believe, if the kids didn't eat the main course (meat) they wouldn't get dessert (pudding). It's also a line from the Pink Floyd song Another Brick In The Wall-Part 2.

I was being sold until you pointed out "Vegan as ****."

Then you lost me.

These are good and all, but you have to have a variety of meat in your diet too for a healthy diet, like fish.

While you CAN get all the protein you need from plants, meat is a much better source of it.
Eating meat is also what allowed early hominids to develop more sophisticated brains from the extra fat and protein.

While you make a good case, unfortunately meat is too much of a source of protein. People (not just Americans) consume too much animal protein.

The average consumption of meat, if you are going by food pyramids of the most historically healthy cultures, values red meat consumption at once or twice a month, white meat possibly once a week as well as fish.

While if you are aiming for serving size it would be a cut of about the size of a female palm, which would equate to about 4 ounces.

It's also been found that a vegan diet lacks certain key vitamins, I don't remember which ones I just remember a pregnant woman lost her baby because of a vegan diet.

I know what you're talking about, it was due to an improper vegan diet in all honesty.

A lot of people think that as long as they don't eat meat they can eat whatever the hell they want, which is not the case. It DOES take work to be a vegan/vegetarian because you aren't getting the super nutrient enhanced meat products.

Vegan diet, in recent history, has tended to lack nutrients found in dairy products. Recent "advancements" (I guess would be the word) have introduced more nutritionally sound dairy replacements. Now I know rice milk and soy milk are an acquired taste (took me a while to like it) but they serve as functional replacements for milk. You can also find vegan cheese, etc, etc.
