I played from vanilla beta and straight through to the end of WotLK. I bought Cata, played it for about 3 hours, and turned away disgusted. The game kept getting easier and easier and the classes continued to get more and more homogenized, while specialization in talents became less and less effective as blizzard looked to make it more "user-friendly", ie thoughtless and effective regardless of layout.

Hit 70 just about a month before WotlK went up to eighty and continued to have fun with it for a while but ended up quitting before cataclism came out but it seemed pretty fun sounding before

I agree that its accurate up to MOP, from what i've heard mop was pretty good but it was made for retards, so like the original painting with a safety helmet

when you said "made for retards" all i thought of was DnD 4.0 .. that **** was pathetic

Cata wasn't awful, but they screwed with the talent system for panda, it feels more and more like a grind trying to quest.

I'd say that up to WoTLK was pretty good, and even Cataclysm, to an extent. MoP was just the end of the line for me, though. In my opinion, if WoW had stopped getting expansions after WoTLK, it would have been just fine.

I started late BC so I never really got to experience the game before WotLK. Ignorance is bliss I guess.

MoP pretty much saved wow after that cataclysmic failure.

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I agree. I think the title is the problem. What MoP brings back in (while Pandaren and Pandaria could definately be left out, and seems inconsistent with the universe) is the war between the Horde and the Alliance which was practically forgotten throughout Cataclysm.
